In summary

Deerhurst Resort is praised for its beautiful Muskoka setting and a wide range of activities suitable for families and individuals seeking relaxation or adventure. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and convenient amenities, including shuttle services and various dining options. However, some visitors note that the rooms are dated and could benefit from updates, and there are occasional issues with communication about amenities and activity schedules.

We had an amazing stay at Deerhurst Resort! From the moment we arrived, the natural beauty of Muskoka completely took our breath away. The waterfront views, walking trails, and peaceful surroundings made it the perfect getaway. The rooms were a little dated, but they were clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Another small downside was that the water bottles in the room were not complimentary, which would have been a nice touch. That said, these were minor details in the grand scheme of things. Any small drawbacks were quickly outweighed by the incredible amenities and the overall b…

My wife and I chose Deerhurst Resort to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The issues began before our stay. When we initially called to book, we were told to call back later when more rooms became available. When we did, we were told a Summit Lodge room was essentially our only option. Although it was larger and more expensive than we wanted, we trusted Deerhurst’s reputation and proceeded with the booking. Upon arrival, the room was a major letdown. It felt dated, we found carpenter ants, and the air conditioning struggled to keep th…

Spent a winter weekend at an event. Hotel is the sa.e as it's always been, not in a bad way at all. Rooms are clean, but was surprised there were neither water nor drinking glasses. Staff is very friendly. The hours of the pub were weird. Full house on a Saturday and it only opened at 1130. By 1215 no meals had been served. The lobby bar is closed for lunch?? Which leaves no option other than Huntsville. The other coffee shop had no sandwiches or salads from their menu ready at lunch time. Minor inconveniences but my advice is to bring some room snacks. Outdoor activities are top notch but pre…

We stayed for two nights. The setting is beautiful. Restaurants are very good and the service is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. We also took advantage of the escape rooms on-site. The one negative is that the room we were is was really overdue for an update. The decor was definitely dated, which I don't care much about. But there were things that mattered. The carpets were stained as was the desk chair. The mattress sagged towards the middle, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable for the two of us. I would like to stay at Deerhurst again. I just hope that they do some roo…

I recently stayed at Deerhurst Resort and unfortunately, my experience was quite average and did not meet my expectations, especially considering the price and the resort’s reputation. The rooms were very basic compared to other 4-star or 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at. There were no standard amenities such as bathroom slippers, bathrobes, bottled water, or even a kettle to boil water. For a resort of this level, these small comforts are usually expected and would have made the stay more pleasant. Breakfast was advertised as “included,” but it actually came with a limited credit . This was not c…

This is a great place to visit in the summer and winter. There are lots of activities to do with the kids and also for adults looking to relax. You have the option of staying in the main hotel or staying off site but not too far from the main hotel. One of the most convenient parts was having the shuttle available to get to and from the main hotel. This meant that we could park our car and then not have to worry about finding parking or use it again until the day of check out. The views were beautiful in the snow, lots of activities, and places to eat. If you are looking for something for the…

Nice clean resort. Rooms were basic for hotels but the amenities were great for our family. The pool was a good size with showers and lockers. We went skating outside on the rink and snowshoeing on the golf course but there are trails to snowshoe in. The new years eve piano duel was amazing and all the kids had a great time. The resort offered many food options but we went into town for breakfast and lunch.

A beautiful year round resort and spa right in Muskoka. Tons of things to do all year round for the entire family. My room looked out onto the bay and it was beautiful, and very cold! But lots of people were there enjoying the scenery, the food, the service. They have a shuttle service that takes you around the resort so you can enjoy the entire property. I saw loads of people enjoying the outdoors despite it being between minus 20 and minus 30! Nice to see people not just stuck in front of the computer or TV!

Honestly a great place to be. It has really boomed in the last several years and its a very busy place. Amenities are great and lots of winter activities to do. There is a discrepancy between what the ads say you can do on the app and the app itself l, its more of a web page with generic information. Also avoid the arcade , its a money pit. I've never been to one where the games took so many credits and the ticket payout was so low. One of the lower rewards, a small plastic toy, ended up costing $40. Breakfast is totally worth it , best french toast in existence. For lunch or dinner I recommen…

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 – Very disappointing stay We booked two nights at Deerhurst Resort and honestly, I can’t believe how poor the overall experience has been for a resort that claims to be a 4-star property. As a resort, the bare minimum I expect in the room is: toothbrushes, bottled water, a kettle, slippers and bathrobes. Shockingly, none of these were provided. I’ve stayed in many hotels and resorts before, so I genuinely know what a 4-star standard should look like — and this was far below expectations. The room had a nice rustic vibe, which I liked, but rustic does not mean worn-out or ripped. T…

My husband and I booked 2 nights at the Deerhurst Resort but only stayed 1 night due to our poor experience. Our first night was in the Lakeside Lodge which is the newest building in the resort. However, upon our arrival, we immediately noticed that housekeeping had not done a good job as there were stains on the couch. The biggest pitfall however was the bed. It was in unusable condition as the springs had worn out and our bodies created a crater when we laid down. The front desk offered little to no help and insisted that they needed to send an "engineer" to confirm the sinking bed. Their…
