Kern River Golf Course

I absolutely love this course. It's close to home and it's a lot of fun to play. The staff are amazing and the food is too. The practice facility is top notch. Driving range, chopping area, 2 putting greens and a pitching/sand area. I play there about 2x a week. Club sandwich, bacon cheeseburger, patty melt or breakfast burrito. Trust me.

Best public course in Bakersfield. Beautiful scenery. Course is very well maintained. I have been playing for 5 years and have visited every public course in the area and this course is a birdie all the way. Club house is very clean and offers a good selection of equipment. Snack bars are another highlight. Most of the staff are great(there's always that one seed) but overall ver friendly and helpful. Parking is plenty full. So go ahead and treat yourself and book a round or just go hit some balls at the range. Enjoy!

Beginner friendly golf course. Nice greens, few fairway bunkers, low cut rough and no water hazards. Driving range is available and the pro shop staff are friendly and helpful. I played on a Friday morning. $50.50 for Green Fees + Cart $20 & $40 club rentals available

They waited until my dad and I paid and got the golf cart set up to tee off on hole 1 to tell us we weren't welcome to play the course because we didnt have collard shirts. Then the man lied and said the sign says November 2025 when it only says it will be enforced starting November 1st. So Thank you for ruining this father son time.

This is a wide open golf course, my favorite near Bakersfield. You shouldn't lose any balls unless the rough is long, then u might miss them in the grass. It's pretty clean, well kept. Price is very reasonable. 56 on weekends for 18 is average usual, carts included. They have food at the clubhouse, the breakfast sandwiches were okay, and near the 6th hole they always have hotdogs. The staff is friendly. They have a chipping area, a putting area and a driving range. You can see lake Ming nearby and its a treat to see the speedboats race there as you golf, if you like that sort of thing. My dad…

This place USED to be great. Then they got new owners. The new owners are greedy & don’t seem to actually care about the sport. They just want the money. We had a 1:00 p.m. twilight tee time, and by 4:45 we had only reached the 13th hole. The course is consistently overcrowded because the owners choose to oversell tee times for profit rather than allow golfers to actually enjoy their round.

Great place to swing the sticks. Friendly staff, great prices, nice folks all having a good time! Highly recommend this GC to anyone in the area looking for a great round of golf. Very forgiving course, great for all skill levels. From the tee box, to the fairways, to the greens, all of it is well maintained and fun to play! 🤙🤙 Cant wait to play here agin!

This course is challenging enough for a pro, easy enough for a beginner. Great views of the mountains and lake. All around great course . Amazing food at the grill breakfast and lunch. Snack bar has full bar and snacks. ⛳

Course was gorgeous, staff were super friendly, carts were nice and in good repair. Just a beautiful course and a gorgeous day.

I recently joined a club called Sparks. I was daunted at first but thanks to the helpful staff, It is a blast! The staff at Kern River had answered all of my questions and made this experience even more fun. Thank you all for helping us navigate our way through this new experience. We really had a great time and will continue on with our journey.
