In summary

La Tourette Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic layout, featuring rolling hills and a classic design with well-maintained fairways and greens. Visitors often commend the friendly staff and the historic charm of the clubhouse. However, some guests have noted issues with slow pace of play, inconsistent course maintenance, and occasional management challenges, particularly concerning scheduling and pricing.

The hidden jem on the island. Why go to NJ when you have La Tourette. 90 balls 15 dollars. Lots of bays with different elevations well maintained grounds and vending machines plus free water for those hot days.

Played a round at La Tourette on a clear day—solid public course with beautiful rolling hills, elevation changes, and tricky doglegs that keep it challenging and fun. The layout feels classic and scenic, overlooking Richmond Town with some great views. Greens and fairways were in decent shape for a muni, and the pace was manageable mid-week. Pro shop staff friendly, and the historic clubhouse adds charm. Not perfect (can get busy/crowded), but great value and a nice escape on Staten Island. Worth it for locals or visitors!

Major improvements were made to this golf course. Grass was clean cut, sand pits were refurbished recently and the putting greens were well maintained. Typical for a few minor brown spots, that's just nature. Overall I was very impressed. I can tell that a lot of work was done to make it a more enjoyable experience. Compared to when I last visited two years ago. I advise to bring a golf balls as you may loose a few of them on the holes where you need to hit over the creek, Adds to the fun! Very historic of a golf course too, I appreciated reading the plaques telling us the story of the golf co…

Be forewarned you’re playing here because you want a convenient place to play golf on short notice. All the negative stuff you read here is true, but I still had fun with a friend, early in the season. See all the pictures. Played on a sunny Tuesday and it rained 3.5 days ago. The place is rundown, the parking lot is for SUVs, they are charging $3.50 for a bottle of water and the grill isn’t open yet. Fairways are in good shape, they recently punched the greens so they are slow, bumpy and sandy. Bunkers are totally unplayable because of water or no sand, so keep the balls down the middle. Ot…

La Tourette Golf Course was, without question, the single worst round of golf I have ever played in my life. I wouldn’t wish that experience on my worst enemy. I showed up on Saturday expecting a normal 4-hour round, instead, after over four miserable hours, I had only managed to crawl through 12 holes before the sun went down. Every hole was a disaster. The pace of play was an absolute joke, groups stacked on top of each other, clueless marshals nowhere to be found, and zero sense of order or management. I’ve seen better organization at a middle school mini golf fundraiser. I spent more time…

I have never made a review about anything in my entire life, but please listen to me when I say save your money and go somewhere worth playing. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Pace of play through the first 7 holes was TWO HOURS. Called the pro shop to see if something could be done and the response was 3 hours was standard through 9 holes, so “we’re on pace.” Never in my entire life have I heard of a 6 hour round. If you plan on playing 18 holes here, you better clear out your entire schedule for the whole day. Play somewhere else - anywhere else, but here.

Solid is season but wildly expensive for the condition of the course, can play in jersey for 30 dollars cheaper for a way better course. Also charging 65 dollars to play in the winter when half the greens are filled with bird poop and 1/3 of the bunkers are under construction is highway robbery

Pity about the very wet conditions as this course can be great, not today and as I mentioned that was down tonthe rain. The place was sodden, what can you do. Greens were nice though, very good shape considering, teeboxes were beat up. Staff friendly as ever and always happy to help. It took a while play the full 18 due to an outing, but hey I was out in the nice warm sunny afternoon.

Super impressed with the layout and condition of the course. A beautiful rolling parkland course with superb views on many holes. Not too long from the whites, the greens were true and firm. Had the pleasure of playing a few holes with John and Pete from the grounds crew, they keep the fairway and rough in top shape and are passionate about what they do. Decent golfers too!

Course was not well maintained. Fallen leaves had not been taken cared of, at some holes, it was difficult to find the golf ball even if you hit th fairway. There were geese poop EVERYWHERE. Disgusting. Tee off an hour after reserved tee time and was still charged a reservation fee and full rate. No winter rates here, $53 a round walking. This is American Golf for you.

Love this course. Wide open fairways, which is good for me as I am still beginner status, beautiful scenery, and nice course layout. Not too hard of a course, but has some challenging holes. Love all the woods surrounding the course.
