In summary

Lakeview Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, diverse 27-hole layout, and scenic setting in the Shenandoah Valley. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful, contributing to an overall positive experience. However, some visitors have noted issues such as slow pace of play and occasional miscommunication about course conditions.

Lakeview is one of the better public golf courses in the southern Shenandoah Valley and was a lot of fun to play. The course has 27 holes and each nine offers different layouts. The mountain and lake nines are open and offer great scoring opportunities while the peak nine is a tighter design placing a higher emphasis on accuracy and shot making. I highly recommend this course because it’s in amazing shape and is very affordable when compared to other options in the area.

Best condition course I've played in the area. The fairways, tees, and greens were in great shape. It plays through a housing development but the houses are not right on top of the couse. The cost for playing 9 was a bit higher than I'm used to paying. But I'll definitely be playing again.

Greens are immaculate right now. Some patches in the fairways but overall Lake and Mountain are playing great! Staff was awesome and check in was a breeze, starter was extremely friendly. I hope to play Peak soon! Thanks for a great experience LGC team!

A hidden Gem in Harrisonburg Va. the Shenandoah valley area. The price , the course and shape were excellent A little slow on pace of play, but if you ask there are 27 holes so they can move you around a bit.

Called three days in advance for tee time and asked if they were aerating. They said only on 1 of 3 nines on the day we were coming and guaranteed I’d be able to play 18 clean greens. Arrived to find they aerated and dressed the greens already. No discount. No apologies. Just bait and switch. Normally it’s a fine course I play 5-10 times a year. Not this year I guess. Off to any of the other courses in the area who don’t lie to me. 8/5/24 update. They really kept the greens in great shape despite the recent drought. We haven’t had rain months, but their greens look good. I want to be fair i…

Nice course to play. Staff were very friendly and provided ice and water at no charge to help endure the heat wave. Would definitely return if we're back in the area.

Exceptional prices for year round play at Lakeview that includes 27 holes of golf right at the foothills of the mountains. Condition is always pretty good and is never overly slow in regards to place of play due to an extra 9 holes.

Played 6/9/23. The mountain course (9 holes) is beautiful with Blueridge mountain on the background. The peak and lake course is ok. It was slow. The price is from teeoff is great.

Showed up to the course 10 minutes early to a 1130 tee time and had never played lakeview before. We went to the wrong 9 out of 27 holes and the ranger directed us to the correct tee box. The starter immediately came over with a raised voice and horrible disrespect for teeing off less than 120 seconds after our time. He talked to us like we were children and told us if we were any later we’d have to leave (all while holding us up even longer). Played the first 3 holes in a rush just to not get in “trouble”. Terrible service if I could leave a 0 star review I would. Would rather drive hours out…

Had a very positive experience at the Golf Club. I had to use a rental set of clubs, the club shop attendant, Ben, helped me put together a set of clubs that worked best for me. He was professional and positive. The course is in excellent condition, the Mountain 9 the best of the 27 holes. Also, I used the golf simulator at the club to test a 3wood and it is one of the nicest simulators I have played on! Excellent staff!

Great course with a variety of well-designed holes, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. Lynn at the pro shop goes out of her way to make sure everyone has a great experience. Highly recommended!

I came to this course last week hoping to have a good time on the green. Oh boy was I wrong. I was immediately met with poor customer service from workers, poorly kept course, and just an all around not fun time. I would recommend a different course if you want to have an at least SOMEWHAT enjoyable golfing experience.
