In summary

The Medal of Honor Golf Course is frequently praised for its excellent course condition, with well-maintained greens and fairways, and a layout that offers both fun and challenging holes. The staff is often highlighted for their friendliness and helpfulness, and the course's scenic setting on Quantico Marine Corps Base adds to its appeal. However, some visitors have noted issues such as the absence of on-course amenities like water and a beverage cart, occasional slow pace of play, and the need for improved sand bunkers. Accessing the course requires navigating base entry procedures, which some find cumbersome.

AMAZING CONDITION! We played here last Sunday, a day before they aerated the greens. The course is in the best shape I have ever seen it! The greens are fast but roll true with no signs of disease, bunkers soft, and fairways were great. Most people don't realize that anyone can play here but its a hidden gem! I especially love that they have a bell on the blind greens so you know when the previous group has moved on. Brilliant! Very walkable course.

Don't ever go here. I have seen rough cut lower than the greens here. If it wasn't the furry grass, you had to hope to didn't have to putt through sand. The grass on the tee boxes were almost as high as my tees. It was like hitting my driver off the ground. Not sure what the problem was but the course is not maintained. Its sad because this could be a beautiful course.

Had an awesome time playing at Medal of Honor Golf Course! The course was in great shape—greens were smooth, fairways were well kept, and the layout had a really nice mix of fun and challenge. You can tell they take pride in keeping it looking good. The views are beautiful, especially with all the trees and open spaces. It has a relaxed, peaceful vibe that made the whole round super enjoyable. Not too crowded either, so pace of play was spot on. Staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Can’t wait to come back!

Good shape. Greens were punched about 2 weeks ago but good speed.

The course is in decent shape but the problem is the pace of play. Unfortunately there are no Marshalls and there is no water on the course. No water would be fine if there was a beverage/snack person driving around. 18 holes with no beverage cart was not good Iwith that 90° weather

To say this course is “open to the public” is somewhat misleading. Yes, you can play the course but you’ll need to go the MCBQ visitor control center first, (which is 6 miles from the course) to get a pass which is good for that day, (bring your “real ID” or your driver’s license and another form of ID.)I was initially told all I needed was the email sent to me from the course pro to show the people working at the visitor center to get a pass that would be good for the season ending March 31, 2026, (ID requirements are the same which is understandable.) The individual at the visitor center tol…

If you like a course where the pro shop lets single after single tee off amongst foursomes, this is the place for you. They all lean on their clubs at the 150 stake with the expectation that your foursome let them all play through. One even asked! Pace of play, no marshall, no bev cart, restaurant/bar permanently closed, and challenges getting on base make this a less than desirable round of golf. All of this is too bad for the superintendent who has a golf course that is in great shape. Some of the best greens around, fairways are solid, and the rough is lush and fair. Just plan on poor manag…

Great golf course with excellent staff. Affordable rates make it one of the better courses to play in the area.

Was wowed by the staff and great service! Nice scenery with rolling hills and creeks, the course is a little tight with small greens but provides a fair challenge.

Zach is a great instructor. He quickly identifies areas for improvement and gives excellent instructions on how to achieve it. The Operation 36 program is an innovative and sensible way to learn to play golf.

We had a wonderful experience as a family at this location. Getting into a Marine base required some formalities (passes etc) but once we were done it was smooth. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the golfers (mostly marines) were very friendly and hospitable. My son was so impressed with the environment that he mentioned an Interest in joining the forces when he grows up. The course looked easy with open fairways and less hazard but the strategically place small greens required thinking and planning. Anything short was penalized but carrying your distances was rewarded. My son sho…
