Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club is widely praised for its classic Donald Ross layout, beautiful course conditions, and attentive staff, offering a challenging yet enjoyable golfing experience. The historic setting and clubhouse add to its charm, though some visitors have noted that the facilities and accommodations could benefit from updates. Mid Pines Golf Club is a classic Donald Ross gem that shines even brighter after Kyle Franz’s restoration. The work highlights the course’s natural movement and strategic intent without overdoing it. The layout is thoughtful and fun, the greens are excellent, and the rustic, understated look fits the property perfectly. Pure, timeless Sandhills golf and an easy must-play.

They claim their shop website has been hacked but make no effort to tell you that across any form of social media or any other website that they operate, I made a purchase, never showed up, and they’ve proceeded to give me the run around like this is my fault. Great course, don’t buy from their shop online. You won’t get your money back or the item you intended to buy.

My overall experience was great, The staff were all very courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet was outstanding! You got to try the bacon and or the Grits! I didn't know If I'd like grits, I do know though! The rooms are above what you can truly expect from a hotel built in the 1920's. The golf course is absolutely beautiful and in great shape. If anyone can figure out how to stay on a green in regulation Pinehurst Please let me know.

Only played golf there, course was in ok shape as they had torrential rain the day before, but the driving range was probably one of the worst I have ever used. Overall the whole place could use a big time refresh. The greens were incredibly slow as well. Save your $ and play Mid South instead, it was in great shape with fast greens and an awesome practice facility

Played all of the Pines courses last week and for the price/value this was by far the worst conditioned of the 3.. Love the place yet 2 holes were closed, not told about it at time of reservation, and found the fairways not in the best condition. The Pro and the staff were great, particularly the bartenders as they kinda served as a local guide. Did not stay in hotel.

The course is world class but the rooms are like you’re staying in a third world country, pretty unbelievable. I would say it should be cheaper to stay at Mid Pines but I honestly don’t think anyone should. My room had dehumidifiers to try and offset how damp the rooms are. There was a huge stain between the beds in my room and the TV would not work.

I played golf here and did not stay at the hotel. The golf course is beautiful and very well maintained. I'd say perfect conditions. The greens are pristine, fairways full of grass, etc. No notes at all. The greens are the hardest part of the course. You never have a straight flat putt it seems like. Or if you do, you can't tell because of the slopes. If you keep it on the fairway you'll have lots of scoring opportunities. Not a lot of trouble in landing zones, but plenty of sand and trees off left and right. I haven't played a ton of nice courses but Mid Pines is top 3 easily. The staff were…

Really fun golf course and the greens were absolutely perfect 🙏🏼 the course isn't long, but the bunkering and elevation changes make it difficult!

The golf course was recently renovated, but still shows signs of age. Range is quite basic, and on course amenities are not as good as you might expect from a noted course. Still a very good Donald Ross design. Greens are less severe than #2 or Pine Needles.

The course is a 4.2/5. The layout is great, it is a beautiful place. The fairways are carpet, although could be mowed down a little. The greens were good but not to the level expected at this price. It is a great walking course and it very secluded minus a handful of houses on a couple holes. However, the clubhouse and facilities are atrocious. Ownership should be embarrassed. It is for sure the single worst locker room and bathroom I have ever seen at a course. Paint on the outside of the building is peeling away. The roof is damaged and discolored. Metal parts are completely rusted away and…

Layout of course is great. Grounds maintenance is not good. Seems like not much capital has been put into maintaining the course over the last decade. Also no Marshalls on the course so the pace of play was atrocious. Won’t go back to this course.
