In summary

Miramar Memorial Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly staff, well-maintained greens, and suitability for beginners, with some unique and challenging holes. The venue is also favored for military events due to its picturesque setting and convenient facilities. However, some visitors express concerns about the condition of the fairways, slow pace of play, and occasional issues with customer service.

Very long course that, aside for many tree-lined fairways, is very forgiving. Greens and fairways are in pretty good shape. Layout is fairly generic, although a couple of the par 3s are pretty interesting. I only interfaced with one staff member, and he was great. Got stuck behind four guys that, despite obviously being around golf courses for 40 years, didn’t have the sense to let me play through when the opportunity arose. But it was still a great day. One of the best values in the county.

Needs more bench seating by every tee box for the amount of waiting you will do since they let people cut in front of tee times and make the time spread about 5 minutes in between tee times. Fairways I’m pretty sure are concrete with dirt powdered over top. Greens are the best part about this course so that’s where the high green fees come from. Admiral Baker is only 20 minutes south, better prices, and 5X better conditions. If you’re here already, go enjoy the range where you can practice hitting off of the dirt that you will find in the fairways. I don’t think I will ever spend another dime…

A beautiful and functional venue for military retirements and other events. As a photographer specializing in military ceremonies, I’ve had the honor of capturing several events on base and the Miramar Memorial Golf Course is one of my favorite locations for a Marine Corps retirement. The shaded outdoor ceremony area offers relief from the sun and a picture-perfect backdrop of the green course. One of the biggest perks? The reception space is right next door, a short walk from the ceremony site, making transitions easy for guests. The indoor hall is spacious, air conditioned, and perfect for…

Pro shop worker is extremely rude. Horrible customer service. Not even a greeting, or anything. This guy just stood there looking pissed. I don’t usually write reviews but this is the 4th time I’ve had to deal with that old asian guy. I understand it’s probably miserable watching people go play golf all day. My tee times been booked, I show up to check in early, can you please not act like it’s the biggest inconvenience in the world to literally just take my money dude? What is wrong with you? You work at a golf course.

Nice course, very straight, mostly flat. Back 9 holes the GPS works and tells you distances.

Been golfing here plenty of times and honestly never really been impressed. The course is 68% dry and dead, half the carts have issues with moving forward because they are old, found out today that they won’t allow you to pay for just 9 holes and that they just charge the full 18, which isn’t really appealing when trying to introduce the sport to younger kids. Also be prepared to pay 36 bucks to just have a cart for yourself and your child.

Loved this course. Mostly forgiving course with a few challenging holes. Just make sure you know where YOUR green is, I’ve never played here before and found myself aiming towards a green on a different hole. I’m not used to playing links. The staff was great, very friendly. The starter got us out earlier than scheduled. And the price was very reasonable.

There is no rough just dirt. Fairway is 75% green. The greens are small and is in good shape. Some bunkers have little sand

Love this course! I learned how to golf here, so needless to say, it's great for beginners. Nice driving range and super helpful staff.

Beautiful course with well-maintained greens. The carts are clean and easy to use. The course has a good mixture of bunkers and water hazards, with most of the holes being reasonably easy to navigate. The Denny's next door offers food and drinks for you to enjoy before, during, and after your tee time. Base access required.

Course is nice, fast greens, grass driving range. Only downside is the guy in the ball picker has no idea what he's doing and drives his cart 10 feet in front of the tee boxes for the range and everybody has to wait for him to pass but other than that not bad.
