In summary

Oak Knoll Golf Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and affordability, making it a welcoming spot for beginners and casual golfers. The course features wide fairways and a scenic setting with mature trees and rolling hills, though some visitors note that the greens could use more maintenance. However, issues such as slow pace of play and overbooking during peak times are common concerns among players.

If you could’ve already played this course, I would recommend it! We arrived 15 minutes before our tee time And we were greeted by a line of 6 carts and a group of walkers. With a ranger this happened by the way, which a 6 year old could solve this in minutes. Paid for 18 holes and found out 2 are closed off, you give us carts but don’t worry it’s cart path only making the pace of play through the roof. The course it’s self wasn’t ready to open especially if it’s ran this way.

Love this course. Well cared for, and very beginner friendly. Wide open fairways. This course is perfect for learning. Wish it had a driving range...that's the only thing missing. Update 9/25 they are in the process of re-blacktopping the cart paths and have already redone the parking lot. The greens today were in the best shape we have seen, super short and crisp/clean cut. Great to see them putting money back into the course.

I went and played at this course today and didnt expect the weather to be like this. According to the rules we are supposed to get a warning about the weather before we go out and golf in hell. We didnt get a warning… we didnt even finish hole 1. We went back into the clubhouse wanting a refund because the weather was too bad. She told us the only thing that she can give us is a warning and we didnt even get that. If it drizzles a little bit outside, do not expect to play on dry lands even a day after. This course is one of the worst courses ive played at.

Playing the back 9 and they are setting up the sprinklers on the greens and turning them on. I’m sure there is a better time to turn on the sprinklers than when guest who paid to play are golfing. I came to golf not to hangout at a splash pad and get wet. We’re adults. Very unprofessional. Mind you it was 6:00 - 6:30 and they don’t close until 8:00.

First time playing this course. It was in good shape although the greens recently aeriated. Tough to get a straight putt. Enjoyed it though.

I played this course last year and it was fairly run down. I went in there a couple weeks ago and the lady at the counter told me it was under new management. I played a full 18 and I have to say, the course is in pretty great condition. Not perfect, but really good, especially for the price. I walked 18 for $10. That’s the best price I’ve ever heard of. Great place to play, especially for the price. I’ll be going back again soon.

The course is not challenging, but it's well maintained and fair priced. Rarely is it overbooked either. One of the best courses in NWI for beginner golfers.

Good staff and an overall fairly easy course, but would not recommend going on a weekend. Play is EXTREMELY slow as it took 3.5 hours for the front nine just for 2 golfers, but if you have time on a weekday I would definitely give it a shot.

I'm going to give it a generous 3. It's a nice lay out and it should be a great experience however there are two huge red Xs. First the greens. I can't even begin. I've never seen greens this bad, they are horrible. Aerated and sanded in June with enough sand to fill a bunker. There are literal beaches in the greens you have to putt thru. Almost all of the sand is on the surface and it's also formed little hills over the aeration holes. I guess it would be cool if it was extreme golf or something. The second is the pace of play. It's unbelievably slow. They have carts whizzing by at almost eve…

Nice chill golf course and the staff is great. The other golfers are laid back too. I’ve been coming here since I’ve been in a high school, which is about 30 years ago. Great place for relaxing. If you are a highly experienced golfer maybe a private course would be the best bet because you may be annoyed with beginners and people don’t golf every day or week. The fairways are nice and wide open and the course is a pretty decent shape for a public golf course. Highly recommended for a relaxing round 👍

Overall good experience. They will squeeze exra tee times in leaving you to play with haste or patience. Well maintained and priced.
