In summary

Occoneechee Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained course, friendly staff, and comprehensive practice facilities, including a driving range and putting greens. The course layout, featuring rolling hills and water hazards, is considered enjoyable and challenging by many. However, some visitors have raised concerns about slow pace of play, double-booked tee times, and occasional maintenance issues with tee boxes and bunkers.

I've played here several times before and enjoy the course overall. It was chilly and overcast today, but despite that went and had fun. Onto the review Tee Boxes 4/5 - Some of the tee boxes were under repair which is nice to see since some were looking rather rough. Fairways 4/5 - Good amount of grass considering it is off season now. Not as plush and some hard spots can make for trouble. Greens 4/5 - Pace was not consistent throughout. Some times it ran at a 9 other times it ran at an 11. Pin placements on some holes were devious. Layout 4/5 - There is a significant amount of water on this c…

Occoneechee Golf Course is a great place to play the game. The course is well maintained, with average slope difficulty, and T-boxes that are situated for adjusting to individual players skill level. Amenities include, spacious driving range, large practice putting green, a practice chipping, sand bunker and additional putting practice green. The Club House is stocked with accessories for purchase including golf balls, tees, hats, towels, etc. The snack bar offers hot dogs, sandwiches, crunchy snacks and cold sodas or water. Lastly and most importantly, the management and staff are receptive a…

Great Course! The staff is as friendly as any course I've played at, and the course is in great shape compared to most other courses in the same price range. Most tee boxes are in good shape too. Saw a review about the bunkers being in bad shape and I strongly disagree, the new bunker on 18 looks great.

Nice course for the price. The pro shop is friendly and the greens are in good shape. Bring your own drinks and food.

Decent course with nice greens and great layout just super busy and you’ll likely have to wait on every hole to play

Most of the staff are very nice but that's all I can say that is positive. The tee times are usually double booked and not far enough apart. I usually wait five to ten minutes at every hole, and always much longer at 4. The course is not well maintained. Many tee boxes are dirt. A lot of dirt patches in the fairways. A few of the bunkers are is disrepair with no sand. The prices are exactly twice as much as the Hillandale course nearby which is a much nicer course with a large pro shop. I've played here for many years and it has been disappointing to watch it go down hill. The range isn't even…

Course is alright, pretty average the do a pretty good of maintaining it. They need to figure out the booking, I was double booked this past weekend. Also need to add more options in the pro shop, the lack of merch is actually disappointing. Changing my review from 2 to 1 stars because of the bad pro shop.

Pace of play is horrendous. Behind Four threesomes on one hole and nobody will let me thru. People are teeing off 4 minutes apart and takes 4 and a half hours to play. Club house won’t give me a rain check for the pace because I’m a junior.
