In summary

Oceanside Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic setting near Camp Pendleton, offering a challenging layout with a variety of holes and well-maintained greens. The staff is generally friendly, and the course provides good value for its price, with amenities like a practice range and snack bar receiving positive mentions. However, some visitors have noted issues such as slow pace of play, ongoing renovations affecting course conditions, and occasional unfriendly encounters with regulars or staff.

Visited Oceanside Municipal Golf Course and the standout holes were the short uphill Par 4 on the 12th and the Par 3 on the 13th, where you get a great elevated view overlooking the course—both were especially memorable. Play was slow even on a weekday afternoon, but it felt like a true neighborhood course where many locals, including seniors, come out for a casual round and some exercise. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to return, but the value for the price is solid.

Player course 16 May 2025. Course has good practice facilities with a full range, putting green, and chopping green. The staff was friendly and the prices are not too bad. As for the course it is in ok shape. It looks like they are trying to make all the greens bigger, so the greens don't look the best but still roll pretty nice. The bunkers are well maintained. The fairways could you a lot more attention with all of the patches throughout the course. About 4 holes did not allow us to hit from the original tee boxes and moved us up almost 80-100 yards so that was a disappointment. The course l…

Beautiful course. Scenery is awesome in a Camp Pendleton valley. Not too easy, starts with a par 5 so better find your groove quickly!

Great public course in North County. Well maintained. Played early in the morning so there wasn't much in terms of food available. Maybe better later in the day. But the golf was solid.

I’ve had a absolutely horrible time at this establishment, this was my first time golfing and I was learning on how to play and I was trying my best not only were we confronted by “regulars” rushing us. Because we may have interrupted there normal pace And we were going at a okay pace, we weren’t rude we said our sorry and we were letting people play past us. If you’re learning or new. They will throw you out. Not a place to start playing golf. There was an old worker that confronted us cause one of there buddy’s from behind us that were rushing us and being rude. Called him he drove up to us…

This is a great course for anyone looking to play a fun round of golf. For the price compared to the other local courses I can’t complain. After 4pm there are no more rentals so walking only. The course is nicely kept up. Lots of squirrel holes off to the sides. And occasionally turtle cruising around. Friendly staff. Great value! Would recommend.

The course is under repair and upgrading drainage, green size and some of the fairways. The front nine is open. I liked the course given everything and recommend playing it. Would like to go back when everything is finished.

Great course and friendly staff. Some alterations and repairs currently happening on the course otherwise it would be 5 stars. The greens are outstanding. Fairways need some attention but are very playable. Fun and challenging course.

What a ripoff. I recently played here for a 2 day tournament that cost $250 (which is twice as much as they should be charging) and then they nickel and dime you for range balls, carts, and spectators on top of that. The course itself is only in mediocre condition at best with dirt and ground under repair being the biggest hazards on pretty much every hole. For how much they're charging I will not be going back here.

What renovations?!? I wish I would have played the front 9 or back 9 while closed for “renovations,” so I could see what was being done. PS. For twilight, they want carts back at 6:30pm. Our tee time was 3pm. The cart guys came to get us at 17 to bring the carts back. Super rude employees. I won’t be going back. Play goat instead.

One of the best golf courses in Oceanside! Great place to play 18 holes! Greens and fairways are well maintained year round! Can’t go wrong with the price of the green fees either! I try to play here a few times a month. Also great that their practice range is on real grass!!
