What People Say

In summary

Oxford Valley Golf Course is appreciated for its welcoming atmosphere, reasonable pricing, and significant improvements under new management, particularly in course maintenance and conditions. The 9-hole layout is noted for being beginner-friendly yet challenging enough for more experienced players. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the slow pace of play during peak times and the need for better enforcement of golf etiquette.

In terms of value? There's nothing, in any area like it. 9 holes. Turtle Bridge!

If you are a beginner or infrequent golfer this a great place to play. It's at a good price and pretty relaxed.

EDIT 8/9/25: played here yesterday and got stuck behind an extra slow threesome. Almost intentionally slow, definitely the slowest group we’ve had the misfortune of being stuck behind. Never once did they offer us to play through. It took us well over 3 hours to play 9 holes yesterday. Until course management invests in hiring a marshal to move the slow groups along, I cannot in good faith recommend anyone play here during peak golf season, and I will be significantly reducing my review score as a result. The review score reflects the unenforced slow play, not the overall course layout or cond…

New management has made this course so much better than it was! Greens still need some work, but the bunkers and fairways are lovely these days

Taught myself how to swing a club, hit a ball and basically play the game of golf on this course from about 1985 thru 1990. Played at least twice a week. Sometimes 7 days a week. I got so good at playing THIS course, I could shoot par fairly regularly. Nice to see it's still around. Looking in pretty good shape too.

Good 9 hole practice course. Major improvements have been made but play is very slow! Too many kids fooling around and not respecting the pace of play, it shouldn't take 2 hours to play this course. Besides that, I would recommend playing here if your not in any hurry!

"Oxford Valley Golf Course is a great 9-hole course with a friendly atmosphere! The course is well-maintained, and the greens are in good shape. The layout offers a nice mix of challenging holes and easier ones, making it enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels. The staff is welcoming and helpful, and the clubhouse has a good selection of refreshments. At $18-$20 for a round, the price is reasonable for the quality of the course. My only minor complaint is that it can get a bit crowded during peak times, which slows the pace of play, but overall, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy a round of go…

I just started playing recently and joined as a member. After looking at the photos of where the course was a few years back, I can say it's no longer the case. The sand traps are maintained, the greens roll decent and over all you can tell management is putting out the effort. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is the price. As a member, I feel the price of two rounds of nine PLUS full price cart rental to be a little steep. Please consider giving members a discount on the pull-carts. It adds up.

I started playing here last summer as a complete beginner. It was obvious that the course was in rough shape but as a newbie that didn’t really matter to me. However, I must say that this course is vastly improved since last year when new management took over this spring. They have improved every aspect of this course in such a short period of time. It really is a nice short course to play on now.

Been playing there for 35 yrs on and off. It's in the best shape that I can remember thanks to new management. I pray they can keep it up. The game needs courses like this, and there aren't many around. Kudos!!!
