In summary

Pinewild Country Club of Pinehurst is praised for its beautifully maintained courses, challenging layouts, and welcoming staff, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors. The tranquil setting and excellent amenities, including dining options, contribute to a positive experience. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the behavior of the course rangers and the emphasis on pace of play, which they felt detracted from their enjoyment.

Pinewild Country Club is an absolute gem for those who appreciate the charm of an older, well-established community. It offers a peaceful, private, and clean environment that feels cozy and welcoming. The beautifully maintained courses and accommodations are top-notch, but what truly sets Pinewild apart is the tranquility it exudes. The quiet nature of the community creates the perfect retreat for relaxation and enjoyment. Highly recommend!

16 man golf trip with a crew of Irish lads from Dallas. Played both Magnolia and Holly. Staff were absolutely excellent and took such good care of us. Golf courses are immaculate, challenging and aesthetically beautiful. Thank you!

Most pathetic golf course in the area. Flew across the country with a group of 12 to play a few rounds around pinehurst area and this was one of them. Supposed to play 2 rounds.. Got kicked out and banned from the course during the first round b/c someone in our group took a piss in the woods. Was escorted off property and banned. A simple slap on the wrist or warning would’ve been appreciated but nope. Would leave 0 stars if I could.

I was not going to post anything, but I have seen a number of reviews on regarding the starters. Great course. Our group of 9 had to play in the rain and as expected it was cart path only. It was a long round (5 hours) but thankful we were able to get the round in. Only negative comment was Starter Bob and I had an uncomfortable conversation. I choose to take the high road a let it go, but Bob needs some hospitality training or not be involved with customer experience. I would play this course again hopefully with better weather next time.

I loved everything about this course including the staff!!! Everyone we came in contact with was super nice and helpful. The course was in great shape and was fun to play. Will definitely be traveling back here one day. Thanks for a job well done!! The SE coastal courses in NC could learn a lot from all of the courses we played while staying in the region! I do have to say enjoying lunch off the back porch of clubhouse was amazing considering the view.

Starter Bob wanted us to make sure we got with him after #9 so he could hold our hands to make sure we found the 10th tee. I was playing golf with a retired 2 star Army General and his friend that wanted to drive separate carts to speed up their game but Ranger Bob refused and wouldn't let them. We teed off at 1:30 and we were the last group of the day. On the 17th hole Ranger Bob drove out to meet us to let us know that we were way behind which wouldn't has been the case if the 2 star General had his own cart !!! Ranger Bob told us he couldn't go home until we got in to the clubhouse. Funny t…

Our group booked a tee time here through Talamore resorts as part of our golf package, I will give them this, the course layout is very pretty and it’s pretty well maintained but that is about as positive as I can give it. Basically from the moment we got there I got the vibe that they didn’t want our group there. The pro shop staff was pretty friendly but everyone else was just so off putting. I’ve been on quite a few golf trips and played at a lot of very, very nice courses including Pinehurst just up the road and all there staff here seemed to care about was getting us out of there quickly.…

Magnolia course again. Great practice area, perfect greens, plenty of sand in the Bunkers.

While Pinewild Holly is a nice resort golf course, it really needs to step up on the screening during their onboarding process of the workers, in particular, their Ranger, Rich. On this day, 5/22/25, Ranger Rich must have forgotten how golf hospitality works, as he almost single handedly ruined our round. While playing for the first time, Ranger Rich hovered over us, time and again, about slow play while nobody was pushing us. We finished in 4.5 hours with a 10 minute snack stop. We are 58, 62, 62 and 63 respectively in age. The green to cart walk after holes is not a hop, skip and a jump. We…

Beautiful course! Loved the layout. Played the Magnolia Course for a Young Life Golf tournament. The course was in great shape and the greens were firm and fast. The staff was great as well. The course has a variety of tees to make it fun for the novice to the most skilled golfer.

Nice track but over priced for what it is. Greens are nice but not a $130 a round course in the off season. I believe it’s a $60 round all day I played it in November and I consider that off season. Tee boxes over grown because they are trying to rejuvenate them that’s why it’s off season and you can’t expect top dollar.
