In summary

Prairie View Country Club offers a unique and challenging golf experience with its notable elevation changes and scenic views. While some visitors appreciate the course's layout and find it enjoyable, many express concerns about the overall condition, particularly the fairways, which are often described as lacking grass and needing significant improvement. Despite these criticisms, the greens receive some positive feedback, and the course's distinctive features, such as the presence of a friendly dog on the course, add a touch of charm.

I played this course early September, 2017. Granted, we have had little rain, still, the physical condition of the course was, well, awful. There some total of fifty yards of concrete cart path. The rest was either, flint hills rock, gulleys washed out by rain, or dirt. There is absolutely no way I will ever bring my personal cart to this course. The fairways had little grass, often times hitting off rocks and pebbles. I spent a good deal of my time just moving my ball around to some distant clump of grass just to avoid scarring my clubs. I did find two ball washers with water - yea! Finally,…

The course layout is very poor. There is not much grass in the fairways and even less in the rough. The rough is merely clumps of grass with dirt/mud in between the clumps. There are long distances from green to tee box. I was told Great Life has run this course for about 15 years. They REALLY need to spend some money on it as I won't return. There are 2 positives. The greens were decent. The tee boxes were either in the valley and the greens on top of the highest hills, or the tee boxes were on top of the highest hills and the greens in the lowest valleys. That was pretty unique. Great Life h…

This place is fantastic. If you are a golf enthusiast, like myself, do yourself a favor and spend a day here. It is a must stop on your bucket list. The Old Course, TPC Sawgrass, Augusta, Prarie View, and not in that order. The service is fantastic, and the course and views of the prarie is even better. Driving from hole 8 to 9, you get to see the remains of the golf carts that gave their lives preserving this course. On hole 9, you are greeted by a friendly K9 that cheers you on enthusiastically with every swing of the club. He even tries to play caddie and take your club for you. I would lov…

This the worst golf course in Topeka and Shawnee county. They need to invest a lot of time and money to make it poor at best. Would not recommend to anyone.

Very nice layout, lots of elevation changes. Greens are nice. Fairways need a lot of work.

Fun course, a lot of blind holes, and potential to loose a ball in the center of the fairway
