In summary

Western Hills Golf Club is appreciated for its varied and challenging course layout, friendly clubhouse staff, and scenic setting that offers a peaceful golfing experience. Many visitors note improvements in the greens and overall course conditions, though some express dissatisfaction with maintenance crew disruptions and inconsistent fairway upkeep. Additionally, there are concerns about gym facilities and membership policies, with some feeling the need for better communication and equipment maintenance.

So much work has been done on this course over the last year and the results are starting to show. The greens are in great shape and they are now working to improve the tee boxes. There is lots of variety on the holes and the course gives you plenty of different options of what to do off the tee box. I love going early in the morning before it gets packed.

The course conditions are mostly decent. The grounds staff on our last round were absolutely ridiculous. It started to feel purposeful because every time we stepped up to hit a shot onto the green someone would come out of nowhere with a hose. They had no sense of urgency to get out of the way. I understand a lot of work needs to be done on a course and they have to do it eventually but based on their attitude it felt like we were somehow always a “burden” for just doing what we paid to be there to do.

My issue was not them raising the price of the membership contract, but not notifying me and showing absolutely no regard for a customer of 5+ years. I have USPS informed delivery that shows no record of their “First Class Mail Notice” and because I don’t follow a mailing list newsletter that you seemingly have to dig through in order to catch a 2x price hike every few years I guess I missed out on the news! Really bad business practice but the most disgusting part was how they responded to my concerns. There are plenty of other gyms. Happy to share more

The only reason why this has two stars is because of the excellent staff in the clubhouse, who are very kind. However, the maintenance crew is the reason why this review is very poor. For well over half of the holes, there were maintenance crew on the greens with no urgency, and made me feel like a burden to play what I payed for. I understand that work needs to be done and I really appreciate the people who maintain this course, however with maintenance crew on almost every green, with one starting as soon as we tee off, it gets to the point where it is annoying to play, having myself and the…

Don't sign up for the gym here!! The door card reader works about 40% of the time, but if it's cold that % goes down to 5%. Also you can only get out of your membership 1 month a year without paying a penalty. If you golf it's a pretty sweet deal

Fun course but just like most greatlife locations lack of food/drinks at the club house, and cart fees to me are outrageous when you have a membership, members should also have priority over non members for carts and tee times.

Course hasn't been watered (except for rIn) all year. Dry, cracked, dusty....greens may be getting water....just helps the weeds grow better. Pretty much standard for a Great Life course.

Clean facility. Easy access with membership key fob. Three sets of free weights. The usual workout machines, tread mills, one rowing machine, recumbant bikes, and stationary bikes. They also offer yoga and Tai chi classes. Update: both are still offered but yoga no longer has a teacher. They use a video.

Skip the course and go play somewhere else. While the greens are ok and the bunkers have white sand (not raked), the fairways are in bad shape. And the rough is awful. Dirt everywhere with patches of grass/weeds. Layout is good and would be worth playing if it was maintained properly.

Greens are in the best shape that I have seen them in a long time... fairways are in very good shape for Great Life fairways...tee boxes are sparse in spots but that's to be expected with the traffic the course receives... overall coming around quite nicely
