Undoubtedly the better of the two Mount Airy courses in terms of condition, routing, and value. Greens were in fantastic late-August shape as putts were rolling true. Staff was friendly and twilight rate of $45 for 18 was extremely reasonable. Only knacks would be chewed up white marker tee boxes and lack of water on the course.

Very well maintained course with beautiful scenery. Really enjoyed playing here and would recommend it. One note it that the golf carts aren't electric.

One of the best public courses in the area. Conditions usually range from good to excellent. I usually play during early mornings and pace has never been an issue for me. Staff has always been super friendly for me. I really don’t get some of the negative reviews around no show charges and high prices. MCG is super transparent on their prices and policies. Keep up the good work, Rattlewood!

Wish I could give it less than one star. The course was in awful condition today with patches of snow still on almost all of the fairways and the greens have recently been sanded. I understand the cart path only but to charge full price (no such thing as winter rates here) for the condition was extremely disappointing. We could've played Whiskey Creek, Worthington Manor, Pb Dye, Maryland National, Musket Ridge, and several other much nicer courses in the area this time of the year for $86. We play here about a dozen times a year, and I can honestly say that the staff are almost never friendly…

On 8/30/24, the course was in great shape from tee box to green. Visited on April 18th. The course was well maintained. Bunkers were filled with plenty of sand. Green was fast.

The course is in okay shape but like others have mentioned before, there is no universe where this course is worth $85. The two people in the pro shop when I went were short and snippy. Oh, also $8 for a hotdog and $11 for a tiny bratwurst is absolutely criminal. There are so many other better options more conveniently located and more reasonably priced.

This course had no problem allowing me to come on as a single, and they were completely clear about their cart availability... until I checked in. The guy at the Pro Shop "Ed" tells me that I had to share a cart with a stranger or it was going to be an additional $17 (making the total for the day $103... in November...for a public course). I immediately told him to cancel my tee time, and I walked out. He looked at me flabbergasted, like I just cancelled a tee time at Augusta. The sad part of all of this is I had five sets of lessons lined up for my son, now also cancelled. Was it worth it to…

I had a lot of fun at this track. It's tough to get to but that also means it's a quiet, solid track in northern Montgomery County. I think it has some of the most interesting par 4s in the area. Lots of short ones that work great in a scramble tournament. Love 11 and 15, both of which are drivable. The others come in all shapes and sizes. Experience is definitely needed for the par 5s from what I saw. It's just an open and fun golf course. Conditions were really good in late November but it has been great grass growing weather recently. Very walkable course as well. Small pro shop and food a…
