Red Barn Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained 9-hole layout, which offers a mix of challenging angles and birdie opportunities, making it enjoyable for both beginners and more experienced golfers. The course features amenities like a driving range with top tracer technology and friendly staff, contributing to a positive experience. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the owner's customer service approach, pricing, and pace of play, which they feel detract from the overall experience.

Reb Barn is an excellent 9-hole course with plenty of character. Challenging angles demand precise iron play and a confident short game, making it an enjoyable layout you’ll likely want to play twice for a full 18. From the blues, it plays more like a standard-length course, while the whites test your distance control from irons down to wedges. Expect several half-swing approaches that will keep you coming back for another round. The bunkers are well-groomed, and several tee shots call for some creativity — even a little “English” — if you want to reach the green in one. Plenty of birdie oppo…

Great golf course! Also has an outdoor tent for special occasions! Only complaint I have... Outdoor pole mounted American flag is badly tattered, and out respect for the flag it needs to be replaced, and tattered flag should be given to military or scout troop for proper disposal. Thank you for the response!

This golf course is well kept up and fun to play. It is reasonably priced. This is one of my favorite golf courses in the Rockford area. The staff is very nice and friendly. Great 9 hole golf course.

I went to the driving range with my younger nephew, who just started to play golf. I wanted to take him here because I’ve had fun at other golf courses that have the top tracer technology at the range. We played a virtual round off the artificial turf and also hit some from the grass. If your someone who hits the ball over 275 yards, you need to be a little careful where you aim. Any pulled shot with a driver is in danger of trigging the out of bounds notice on the monitor. This happened once and the owner came out to talk with me. I aimed at the furthest right pin the rest of the round and…

Love playing the Red Barn Golf course. Owner is friendly and respectful. Sad to see a group of people slandering the guy on their reviews. Nice course and well kept for a beginner friendly course. I enjoy every outing and will continue to work on my game at the Red Barn!

Was the worst course i’ve played. Will not be coming back. Can’t even put my tee in the dirt because of how hard it was. One hole had mud even tho it hasn’t rain in a while. Doesn’t even have 18 holes which is something. Greens were super slow and easy to mess with.

I’m a newer golfer, started later in life. This is just my second real season of going, some what regularly, I absolutely love Red-Barn. From the tracer golf options for the driving range. The down to earth workers, who are also in a great mood, always willing to help. Just an overall great course, great for beginners with enough obstacles to keep it interesting. Can’t wait to go back!!!

I’ve been golfing for over 25 years and have always enjoyed my time at Red Barn Golf Course. The staff is typically very friendly and attentive, the course itself is usually in good shape, and their golf instructor is an outstanding teacher and an even better person. However, my experience with the owner has been extremely disappointing. It’s unfortunate to see the way he treats customers — I’ve heard multiple concerning stories, including incidents involving elderly guests and young players, and I’ve personally witnessed behavior that I found completely unprofessional and unacceptable for so…

It's lost all of its feel. the staff is friendly but The red barn that used to be a relaxing place to practice. it now feels comercial and pressured. Stacking tee times on top of tee times. The tee boxes are undefined and torn up. The greens bounce your ball as you putt and some have diseased grass. I've been to this course multiple times over multiple years thinking it will get better and it has stayed the same. The price for 2 golfer and a cart and a "large" bucket of balls maybe 40-50 balls. Wes almost 70 bucks for a par 3 9 hole course. I'm not saying it can't get better but it hasn't. I w…

This course is so convenient and grandkids love it but the attitude the owner and employee gave the grandsons is unreal. They r paying customers too! Not sure this supposed “gem” will continue to b a gem much longer. This course is an asset to the community but with the way customers r treated not sure if it can sustain itself. Even former employees have complained about the way they have been treated. Doesn’t take much effort to smile and treat everyone like u want ur own grandkids treated when they go to a business!

Pretty nice little course EXCEPT A. My 8 yr old came along but did not golf and they charged me for 2 carts! B. Pace of play isn’t enforced I guess? Took me over 2 hrs to do 9 holes

I’m very disappointed with the way my 70-year-old mother and my 90-year-old grandmother were treated at Red Barn Golf Course. A couple of weeks ago they had booked a tee time to play four holes together, hoping to enjoy a quiet, casual outing with a golf cart on a nice day. When they arrived and went inside to pay, the owner immediately scolded them for scheduling a tee time for only four holes, claiming they took a spot away from a “full-paying customer.” Instead of calmly explaining course policies or handling the situation with understanding — especially given their ages — the owner raised…
