In summary

Atwood Homestead Golf Course is praised for its well-maintained grounds, scenic layout, and reasonable pricing. Golfers appreciate the course's challenging design with open fairways and minimal water hazards, as well as its peaceful, spacious setting. While most find the staff friendly and the atmosphere welcoming, there are some concerns about customer service and the lack of flexibility regarding rain checks and tee time adjustments.

A reasonably priced local cost with well-maintained grounds. I've played this course dozens of times for a local league, and it offers a fair but not punishing challenge for me ( I shoot about 95-105 here). The course has lots of fescue grass as hazards, and many holes are heavily wooded along the sides of the fairway, so try to keep your ball centered to avoid immediately losing it. Not much water to be concerned about, and typically The only bunkers protect the greens. There's a couple of really beautiful holes, and one that I still find entertaining every time I play it (16).

Atwood was a great course to play. My first time, although it was a windy day even everything else was great!!

Played on August 30, 2023, what a pleasant experience! Atwood is a large, sprawling track out in the country, in excellent condition, and very walkable. Considering the drought conditions in this part of the Midwest, the course is in remarkable shape, although the greens were a bit on the slow side, probably due to the oncoming heat wave that arrived the following week. I walked, took about three hours for 18 holes, couldn't have asked for better!! The best thing about Atwood is that the course designers didn't try to shoehorn 27 or even 36 holes into such a large piece of property. Quite a f…

The customer service here is unfathomably rotten. The second you walk into the clubhouse you are greeted with a smug face and a comment about when the carts need to be returned which is 7-8 pm depending on the time of the year. You ask for a twilight rate and it’s rejected before you even finish asking the question. Also, I have been late to a tee time because of traffic and there was no forgiveness just a healthy serving of grief. Also, do not golf here on a day of possible rain as they will NOT give you a rain check if you have played more than 3 holes. By far the worst golfing experience in…
