In summary

Rutgers University Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained course, unique and challenging layout, and friendly, professional staff. The course's picturesque setting on campus and reasonable pricing are also highlighted as positives. However, some players express concerns about the strict enforcement of pace of play and the challenging nature of the greens, which may not suit all skill levels.

One of the best public golf courses that I have played in central New Jersey. Located right in the heart of campus, the course layout is extremely fun and the cost of a round won't break the bank. There are a couple of holes that are truly challenging. Can't wait to play it again with some course knowledge!

I finally got to play this public gem of a course. My round had the usual high and lows of a shaky 15 handicap golfer but I was really surprised at the unique design of this course. A nice mix of short Par 4’s and gettable Par 5’s. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in great condition. Some of the greens are small and diabolical with extreme slope and crazy contours. The green on 10 will humble anyone if your approach is on the back of the green like mine was. The green on 12, a tough Par 5, is also very difficult. They take pace of play seriously so be ready to play extreme ready golf. Also,…

Drove an hour to check this course out. It's situated in a picturesque landscape in Piscataway. Driving range was okay, but putting and chipping practice greens are nice. The Clubhouse and staff were nice and extremely professional. The cafe is open for both coffee and alcoholic beverages and is conveniently located close to 1st, 9th and 18th hole. Overall thoroughly impressed by Rutgers University golf course.

Another course that I played for the first time this year during my quest for 30 new courses in 2025. This was 29 and if I had tried it earlier (played November 1st) I would have played here several times. Course was challenging but not extremely difficult. Average NJ Pricing (75 with a cart and range balls) Will definitely be in my 2026 rotation

Beautiful course. Snakes thru campus which is very cool! Had a great day would definitely play here again. Very unique, not a boring cookie cutter golf experience.

My new favorite public golf course in New Jersey! It's super clean, well-maintained, and the pace of play is just 4 hours. The $55 weekend rate is unbeatable! Amazing experience!

Big fan of this course. Probably one of the most well maintained public courses in the state. Very tree lines fairways. If youre left or right off the tee you could be in trouble but if you keep it somewhat straight, there are plenty of chances to score here. Greens are a bit tough. Fun par 71 layout. The clubhouse does have a grill and bar. Ive played here 3 times during the week and havent had any issues with pace of play.

Course was in excellent condition for the price. Greens were fast and fairways were phenomenal. My only complaint is that there was no where to get water besides the clubhouse after the first 9. Should be a couple water jugs on each 9 during the summer months.

The course is immaculate in all aspects for a public course. Cheap. Fast smooth greens, trees, wildlife, rangers and pace of play is strictly enforce which you gotta love. It has a private club aesthetic to it but with that public feel. The hole signs and clubhouse and bar is as authentic as it gets. Being able to have a drink and watch people come up 9 green and 18 is awesome. All the workers, students workers, grounds crew does an excellent job and works hard. The agriculture here and planning and constant work on the course is 10/10 can’t beat. The only improvement they need is soon bunkers…

This is a very nice golf course with a variety of very interesting holes. The conditions were excellent considering the heat wave we are in. Greens are in great shape. Pace of play was excellent. The staff was very friendly.

Always a great place to play! The course is always in amazing condition for a public course. I love that you are in for a 4-Hour round. They push pace of play which is fine by me!

Great course. Good range 7$ for what you would consider a small bucket as of 2025. Decently tough course from the tips. Well maintained.
