In summary

Sammons Park Golf Course is appreciated for its affordability, well-maintained fairways, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice in the Temple area. The course offers a pleasant setting with wildlife sightings and amenities like GPS-equipped carts and a driving range. However, some visitors have noted issues such as slow pace of play, inconsistent greens, and the need for better course signage and tee box maintenance.

Really nice, well kept up gold course. I will play there again. Carts well maintained and price to pkay is good, especially after 3pm. Employees very helpful. However, what was frustrating and they needed to work immediately, especially if you don't know the course. 1. Markers to fond the next hole. The map is bad and the paths have no signs or markers which way to go. The first 9 whole Intertwine between the last 9 holes. You start driving around like an idiot figuring out which way to go. 2. The little blocks they use black/white/red. Example red for women. Are so hard to see! Love, they u…

Best Golf Course in the Temple area! GPS in the carts, club and ball washer on the carts. Greens are nice and fairways can differ depending on the rain history. Nice driving range and putting area.

I have walked or ridden along on many golf courses and Sammon's is the nicest public golf course I have visited. Fairways are difficult to maintain in Texas but they do a pretty good job. It's inexpensive, not usually too crowded, with pleasant staff. They work hard to keep the greens looking nice. The scenery is beautiful, and you are sure to see some wildlife. An enjoyable experience.

The greens are in terrible shape. I’ve been playing here for years and years. I’ve never seen the little tufts of weeds that are covering 80-95% of every green. Long putts…just watch ur ball bounce left and right the whole way and stop way before it should. 2-foot tap ins are 50/50, they will bounce left and right and it’s very possible a perfectly struck putt will miss the hole. I know it’s early February and I hope that they will get the greens back. The rest of the course looks good for the winter. Hopefully there is a plan to aggressively work on the greens as spring rolls in.

Great course. Really enjoyed it. Was visiting from out of town a few weeks ago. A fair test. Lots of wind that day though. Pretty tough. Lots of water. Staff was very nice. Food was great in clubhouse.

Very nice golf course, carts a little problem, they can inidicate your are in a place that you do kot suppose to be and you have to drive in reverse, sometimes in the cart path!

Sammons is one of the best values you’ll find in Central Texas golf. The course is very affordable, and for the price you get well-maintained fairways and greens that usually roll true. The food and drinks are also budget-friendly, which makes it easy to enjoy a full day out without breaking the bank. That said, there are a few areas where Sammons could improve. The tee boxes are often uneven and beat up—noticeably so, even for a municipal course—which can make it frustrating when trying to set up a solid shot. Another drawback is the lack of cart service. Given the Texas heat, especially in…

Played 18 with the wife today. Course played pretty damn good for February. Was able to score an Ace on hole 4! Greens checked, putt well. Tee boxes could use some work. Fairways looked like winter, dormant, usual for the season. Well kept. Staff was friendly. I'd play here again. Carts were nice and clean. Like previous reviews state, they stack the course. You will wait longer than actually playing golf. Pace of play is beyond extremely slow here. We were 2 groups deep waiting on tee boxes all day. Seen nothing like it anywhere in the U.S. Comical really. All the golfers seem ok with it too…

The staff in the cafe were inept. Don’t listen, don’t care and certainly aren’t concerned whether they get your order correct. Course was mediocre. More signs, better direction BUT greens were actually pretty good. Well done on keeping them safe from the freeze.

Course was packed with no pace of play being maintained. Fairways were like playing on a goat track. Never saw the beverage cart in 5 hours! Greens weren't horrible but do need alot of work.
