In summary

San Clemente Municipal Golf Club is widely appreciated for its stunning ocean views, well-maintained fairways, and challenging greens, making it a favorite among many golfers. The course is noted for its friendly staff and enjoyable layout, with a mix of easy and challenging holes. However, some visitors express concerns about the increased rates for non-residents and the difficulty in securing tee times. Additionally, while the greens are generally praised, their speed and consistency can vary, and the bunkers receive mixed reviews.

Beautiful golf course with a beautiful back drop that leaves u speechless. Great fairways where the ball rolls, greens are fast and they hold well. Bunkers suck - lol... Overall this course is in great condition for some good golf.

Many holes offer beautiful ocean views, and the greens are well-maintained. The greens on almost all holes slope toward the coast, requiring careful putting. Several holes require players to avoid ancient trees and land their ball on the fairway. The practice range is always busy.

San Clemente Muni was in great shape today. The greens were quick and had just enough trickiness to keep things interesting. Fairways were solid, and the overall course conditions were better than expected. Staff was helpful and friendly, which is always a plus. And if you don’t leave with one of the Surf or Golf shirts, you’re missing out. Perfect weather, solid course, and a good day of golf.

Great day on a pretty great course! Pace of play was on point, did 18 in a little over 4 hours. The drinks were great, the bar in the clubhouse made some fantastic Bloody Mary’s. Carts ran well and the grounds were well maintained. Definitely will be back. My only real complaint is how difficult it is to get a tee time. And possibly some better signage for some of the holes that aren’t that obvious. Other than that, the course is a diamond in the rough.

Prices gone up, other than that it's a nice course with good views

I do really like this course but unfortunately the city board just increased the rates by 50% for Non San Clemente Residents, which seems pretty excessive! Add $20 for cart and now you're looking at $84, just for mid-week, if you can even get a tee time. Still a good value for locals though...about half the price.

The ocean views on the back 9 are worth it alone. The neighborhood that the course winds through is so ideal that you want to move there immediately. Kids riding e-bikes with their surfboards attached… bought an Arnold Palmer from some kids who were doing a fundraiser for their church on the back 9. Course was fun to play and in good shape. Reserve tee times ahead as the course is very popular.

Great local muni course. The staff in the proshop is hit or miss since I never know if 'cranky-pants' is behind the counter. If not... everyone is super cheerful and sweet. Lessons are stellar and the course... if you can get a tee time... is worth the drive. A hidden gem for sure. The back 7 is worth the walk/drive. But don't get caught back there at sundown. Treacherous to get out in the dark. Course and range staff are the best!!

Went for breakfast on a Sunday. 1st time and will definitely make this part of the local rotation. Definitely a value priced , yet limited menu. Service is attentive and friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Fairways were ok, not in great shape, but not not terrible. The greens were nice overall and everything breaks towards the ocean... Hahaha .. If I could only get that though my head! Get the ball to the green, nothing rolls up from the fringe, the ball just stops short.

The fairways and views are excellent. However, the condition of the greens is disappointing. The greens are too hard, and the green speed lacks consistency.

Great public golf course. The staff was friendly. They have a great shop. The course was in great shape with great views of the ocean. The fairways were very rewarding and well maintained. The greens were very tricky to read but made it a lot of fun. Thanks
