In summary

Scott Schreiner Municipal Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained fairways and greens, interesting layout, and scenic hill country setting. Many visitors appreciate the courteous and knowledgeable staff, as well as the reasonable fees and practice facilities. However, some guests have noted issues such as slow pace of play, limited signage, and occasional maintenance needs on certain greens and bridges. Additionally, the absence of a beverage cart and some operational inconsistencies have been mentioned as areas for improvement.

Beautiful course for $61. Brand new golf carts but no GPS. No bev cart girls available for drinks. Definitely recommend and will return soon.

Overall, the course was just okay. Signage is limited and could definitely be improved. The course itself was dry and brown in spots, and the greens were especially dry, which hurt playability. The nearby tennis center was busy, with crowds cheering, which added noticeable noise. At $60+ for a walking round, the price feels a bit high given the conditions. That said, there isn’t much competition in the area, which may explain the cost. Decent experience, but expectations should be modest.

0-10 golfing experience. All staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. Tried to enjoy a great day however I was met with belittling comments such as, “Can you even afford this.” Another example would be an older staffed gentleman telling us what color of tees to hit off at because we are newer golfers and shouldn’t hit off the black tees. I quote, “This is for good or experienced golfers unlike yourselves.” Not like I just paid to play. Overall very poorly ran business wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

We don’t play golf but live near. The maintenance people worked their butts off to get this place open early. There was a lot done but I don’t see 5 mil. Maybe the bridges which were all redone EXCEPT for the one needed to cross for the 12th hole. Boards were laid across it which bowed and buckled. Not a good look and super rough to drive or walk over!!

This Muni course was a pleasant surprise.... especially for the cost. The greens were in great shape. The fairways were suprisingly lush and the rough made you pay for your errors. The course had some fun elevation changes, challenging par 3's and fairways lined with bunkers and the occasional water hazard. Overall, I was impressed! I enjoyed it and looking forward to playing it again. The staff was welcoming and extremely courteous.

Today was my second visit since renovation. The only course that I have played in TX and they have a non resident rate; not like that before, and the only one in the hill country that does. I play in Comfort and Bandera; great courses without the non resident rate. I could probably understand an out of state person, but even then, how is that promoting the game and attracting people to it. Guess they only care for people in their city. They said the re-did all greens, if that is the case, they need to either get their money back or have their green keeper look at them closely. Most of them wit…

Nice Municipal Golf course. Good views of the surrounding hill country. Well maintained with excellent tee boxes and fairways. Some of the greens are needing repair. But they intend to shutdown beginning January 2025 for renovations. They have a nice driving range. I'm looking forward to playing once the course reopens.

This is a fantastic golf course for the price. The layout is interesting and has a fantastic hill country feel. The are a few very challenging holes like #3, #5 #12 & #17. Plenty of water and solid greens for a public track. Play it if you are in Kerrville!

I played this course yesterday. The staff was very nice and professional. There was no hot breakfast so I had vendor provided sandwich and juice. The grass driving range was fine and the chipping and putting greens are great. The course is in great shape and was very enjoyable and forgiving. Don't let forced carry over water on #17 scare you. If you hit pretty straight then only 4 holes required your thinking cap. So go play this enjoyable par 70 early in the morning to beat the heat.

Great course to play at. Can’t recommend it enough. Very fair fees, great practice facilities. Proshop isn’t we’ll stocked and staff is very knowledgeable. Yes, there is no beer cart which to me doesn’t matter. You can buy a few beers when you start your round and buy more at the turn. This is a very course management layout where you definitely have to plan your next shot first which is how I like it. Greens and fairways are great, especially for this time of year! Definitely give it a shot!
