In summary

South Harbour Golf Links is appreciated for its affordability, friendly staff, and suitability for beginners or those practicing their short game. The course, a par-3 layout, offers a quick and fun round, though several visitors note that the greens and overall course conditions could use improvement, with some areas being patchy or sandy. While the relaxed atmosphere is generally enjoyed, some guests have experienced issues with mosquitoes and inconsistent service.

Okay for what it is. The course was bad shape. The staff was nice and explained everything well. The worst part was the mosquitos the size of hummingbirds. We almost needed a transfusion at the turn. The only reason we finished our round was because a very nice couple behind us shared their bug spray. Make sure to take bug spray.

First time visiting and will definitely be back. Laid back and great for anyone who is just beginning or has younger kids that are wanting to learn the game. The greens are patchy in some areas, but it was not a problem for our group.

All the recent reviews were correct. This course is badly in need of TLC! We knew it would be bad. Our goal was to go play, have a nice time together. That was accomplished. The course manager should be ashamed though of charging $32 for 2 to play 9 walking. Don't come expecting much and you will see what I mean.

15 bucks for walking 18 well designed holes, sign distances don’t align with rangefinders and greens are like rolling a tennis ball on shag carpet. Beats sitting at home

If you just want a short course to mess around and have fun on, you can enjoy regardless of everything mentioned here. That said, besides the holes visible from the road every green on the front 9 is in bad shape. Can't speak for the back. Sand traps were closer to mud. Thought I hit a sand trap on 2nd hole but it was the green. It's hard to justify more than a cart fee to play here. Bug spray is non-negotiable.

Oak Island Par 3 is an absolute gem! With its 18 holes, it's the perfect place for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a quick and fun round. The course is well-maintained, and each hole offers a unique challenge without being too intimidating. What really sets this course apart is its affordability—great value for the price! It’s a fantastic spot to work on your short game or just spend some quality time outdoors. Highly recommend it for locals and visitors alike!

Great day for young and old! Took my 9 year old friends kid. He loved it, got to run around a lot. And he did really well! Wore himself out!

We had not been out on the course in a few years, but decided to head back out today. WOW, we were very impressed. Tee boxes were great shape. They are long and look to be rotated well given that it's nothing but iron play. And all of the divots from the day were already filled in. Some greens were under maintenance, but the rest were in great shape. We walked and were in and out in less than two hours playing all 18, it was such a nice break from a "traditional day" of golf. This is the best I have ever seen the course and kudos to the folks managing it. I am kicking myself for not coming b…

Pretty nice par-3 course, reasonably well maintained. It’s 18 holes rather than the usual 9 x2. Winds through housing development yet easy to walk, even carry bags which we did. Greens roll well but fairly slow. They have a few sandy depressions but not too disruptive. $20 to walk 18 for non-resident. Took just under 2 hours for twosome with no waiting

This is a nice par 3 tucked into a residential community. Tennis and pickleball available. Its not Augusta, but the folks are friendly and it’s a great olace to practice your short game.

Having the right expectations are key to determining whether or not you will enjoy this course. The other reviews mentioning grass quality were accurate. Greens had a lot of sand and were patchy. Grass wasn't that "fresh manicured" look you see at some other golf courses. Also, there is no paved cart path, so you just have to look for where the grass has been worn away from the repeated driving. It can make it a little difficult to follow from hole to hole. The pro shop lacks some amenities of larger (more expensive) golf courses (limited merchandise, basic packaged snacks for purchases). But…
