In summary

Oak Island Golf Club is praised for its friendly staff, enjoyable and challenging course layout, and well-maintained fairways and greens, with the added benefit of a popular restaurant, Duffer's, offering good food and service. While many appreciate the course's condition and overall experience, some visitors find the pricing a bit high and have noted issues with the pace of play and occasional staff rudeness, particularly concerning the starter and ranger. Despite these concerns, the club remains a favored choice for its scenic setting and engaging golf experience.

Friendly staff and fun course. Pace of play is usually 4.5-5 hours. Priced a little high because they are the only course on the island. Several courses within 30 minutes that are in better condition with lower fees, faster pace of play and at least one has 27 holes. There is a great restaurant, Duffer's, in the clubhouse with very good food and service. This course serves the community well hosting many charity tournaments. It is definitely a fun course with several challenging holes. #7 is a long uphill and narrow Par 3, #8 is a shirt severe dogleg right, #9 is very long I to the wind Par 4…

Hey this staff was excellent. The course is a lot of fun. The greens roll real nice. They give you a course booklet to help with course layou. A really great day.

First time out here. Not the cheapest and thankfully I'm local and don't have the pay the visitor price as I think that would be a little bit to much for what this place is. Pace of play was fine, just around the 4 hours mark is good for a Friday, staff were also friendly enough. The course was in fair shape, it's relatively open, bunkers were playable, some water came into play especially the 14th which is no my favourite type of par 5's, short tee shot, longer 2nd shot to clear a hazard. The green complex for almost all the holes were fun for testing your second shot to the greens, lots of b…

Never played It but see a lot of people saying the course is declining here is the reason for that cart number 18 at 11:16am 10/7/25 (I’ll only snitch if it’s to protect the course) drove 2 feet from the green way past cart marker signs I have a video I will upload when the internet gets better for me. Update there have been several to just drive up onto the green basically if the members/ regulars don’t have respect for it how will it ever be to its full potential

This is the first time I have golfed here and I completely enjoyed the course. I was a little concerned because of some other reviews. The course was in great condition, greens were a little fast. I saw a gator for the first time since I moved here. I highly recommend it and I will be back there soon.

I've played here 5-6 times over 2 years. The staff have always been awesome. The course is usually in good to great shape but the greens often need more attention than they seem to receive. The pricing is a bit high considering the greens, but it's on an island so it's not outrageous. Duffer's is fun and has good food so you can hang out afterwards. The pace of play isn't novice friendly but it's reasonable for routine golfers. The fairways are forgiving but there is still plenty of challenging holes. Truly a 4 star review, but I'm giving 5 to balance some unfair 1 star reviews.

Staff was pleasant and great to work with. Course was in great condition. We did get a lot of rain the day before so it was cart path only. Will play again when I'm in town.

Fun layout, in great shape just days after Ian, and friendly staff. Was a bit more expensive than I'm accustomed to and would have liked to walk but wasn't allowed to because I'm not a member. The forced cart is the only reason it's not 5 stars; it's a very walkable course. Highlights include a 170 yd shot pitching 3 ft from the hole, and leaving myself an eagle chip chance on the longish par 5 18th.

Came to Oak island on vacation and played a round of golf at the Oak Island Golf Club. Course was in really good shape. Greens were a little slow after the rain but overall it was a great experience.
