What People Say

In summary

The Abbey Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and affordability, making it a popular choice for casual golfers and families. The front nine is particularly praised for its scenic layout and elevation changes, while the back nine and fairway conditions receive mixed feedback, with some noting inconsistency and maintenance issues. Although the facilities are currently limited due to ongoing construction, many find the course to be a good value for the price, especially for beginners or those looking for a laid-back round.

The Abby is my favorite course in the state. I am able to zoom through on a good day and get 18 in at about 1.5 hrs (that isn’t the norm on weekends) fantastic staff, and more than reasonable prices. It is not a difficult course and doesn’t have those pesky sand traps. I love that the course doesn’t take its self seriously if you’re on the PGA or the life of beer league 4 some the Abby is for you! Also the Par 6 is a sight to behold!! Is it regulation? ….well does grizzly Adams have a beard!? Who knows!?! but you will know where to find me most days! I wasn’t stoked about moving to this are…

3/2 played the Abbey Course. The front nine is definitely the highlight of the round. It’s more scenic, better routed, and takes full advantage of the property’s natural elevation changes. For Florida golf, the rolling terrain is a pleasant surprise and gives several holes some real character. A few of the tee shots on the front are especially memorable, with nice risk-reward decisions and subtle movement in the fairways. The back nine, however, doesn’t quite live up to the front. It feels a bit flatter and less engaging in comparison, and the conditioning back there was a more inconsistent.…

I recently played at Abbey Golf Course for the first time, and I had a great experience overall. The staff were exceptionally friendly, which made me feel welcome right from the start. The pricing was quite reasonable, especially for a Sunday, and I appreciated that there were no players behind us, allowing us to enjoy the day at our own pace. However, I did notice that the grass was quite high, making it challenging to use my irons effectively. This wasn't a major issue for me since I was there to practice and enjoy the game. Additionally, I observed a lack of well-defined sand bunkers, which…

4 stars If you want a nice quiet round where you can play at your own pace and have a good time hitting some balls, great course. If you're wanting a more "classical" golf course where everything is super manicured and groomed. This course will not be for you. You get what you pay for for at $30. I've played multiple times and will keep coming back for a few reasons. 1. Walk in tee times are always welcome and available 2. Course isn't busy and you can play at your own pace (never feel pressure to play fast or have someone on your tail for 18) 3. Great place to bring new players and teach abo…

I've been playing here for years; the course is the best value in central Florida. This is not a country club course, so don't expect all the amenities you'll find in $100+ per round courses. There has been tremendous improvement in the grounds and greens in the past few years. The course offers a good challenge and a relaxed vibe.

The fairways weren’t in great shape, most of the greens were great though. Although on the back nine there a few greens that were not in good shape. It was a shorter course and was simple.

Bare bones unkempt course. No water hazards, just overgrown brush and wooded boundaries. Some greens are bare. Pitty, it could be a nice course if properly maintained.

This is a very family friendly course! Relaxed and casual… Our family plays there weekly and always have a great time.

It’s a 3 star course due to a wide bladed fairway grass and greens with mixed grass/weeds ( but still reasonably puttable), but it’s a good value / affordable, so that upped my ranking to 4 stars. Additionally, there’s lots of elevation changes, and no houses, which is rare in most of Florida.

The fairways need some serious help as well as the greens on the back nine. Looks like the greenskeeper barely tries. However it’s fairly cheap and a good course for beginners.

Not the best course conditions or anything like that... But good deals and good. Good relaxing afternoon and can slowly golf with no real pressure.
