In summary

Steele Canyon Golf Club is highly praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, featuring dramatic elevation changes and stunning views. The staff is consistently noted for being friendly and helpful, and the course conditions are generally well-maintained with fast greens. However, some visitors have mentioned that the tee boxes and fairways could be in better condition for the price, and the lack of GPS on carts is a common point of criticism. Despite these minor issues, the club remains a popular destination for golfers seeking a scenic and demanding round.

Loved everything about Steele Canyon - friendly and helpful staff and wow what a golf course - great condition, greens are fast and challenging but very well kept, some amazing views around Ranch particularly - all with Californian sun - what’s not to like?! Would love to play Canyon - next time!! 5 stars

Excellent course! Fun layout - interesting holes, many have significant elevation changes in play. Lots of risk-reward situations making you think. Fast challenging greens. Fairways mostly in good shape. Friendly service.

This place is amazing! I can’t wait to go back. Very challenging golf course, great views and an outstanding and friendly staff. My golf game isn’t up to par, but still a lot of fun and friendly people to play with.

This was a great golf course to play but brutally difficult. It’s four stars because the scenic views from every tee box are wonderful however for $140 per round per person the tee box were in rough shape the fairways and fringes around the greens were not in the best condition for $140 but man are the views beautiful.

Wow! The course was beautiful but it was tuff. The young man in the club house was very helpful. I rented clubs and he had them ready before I got there. (720am tee time) I hit the driving ranch then was on my way. I played the canyon course then ranch. Both were awesome. The only bad part was it looks like no one know how to repair their ball makes on the green. Would definitely recommend this course if you want a challenge with great scenery.

Amazing club that has an amazing pro shop. This course is a “must-try” if you’re in San Diego. Challenging but fun. It also brings you to a side of San Diego most people never get to see.

Played the Canyon and Vineyard nines. They are a great mix of holes. Some are extremely challenging, even from the whites. I found a couple of the par 3s to be especially difficult. The fairways were in great shape, as were the greens and bunkers. A couple of the water features could use some TLC. I only encountered two staff members, and both were extremely gracious. I didn’t get a chance to check out the club and restaurant. Played the 18 holes in under three hours.

The courses are awesome but a little more challenging than I expect which is good. Lots of blind shots and the greens were a bit fast. Really enjoyed the round. We played the ranch and vineyard with is called (meadows) on the gps. The only negative things is for $105 you would expect better carts with GPS and they didn’t have that. It took 3 holes and calling the pro shop to figure what to select on the Garmin deal

Beautiful golf course. We played Ranch and Canyon. Both sets of 9 holes had beautiful views. The course was pretty challenging. The fairways and greens were meticulously maintained. The course staff was very friendly and very helpful throughout the day. Pace of play was fast. 18 holes took less than 4 hours.
