In summary

Swannanoa Country Club is praised for its stunning mountain views and affordable pricing, making it a popular choice for both new and seasoned golfers. Visitors appreciate the friendly and welcoming staff, as well as the course's unique layout that offers a mix of challenging and enjoyable holes. However, some note that the greens and fairways can be inconsistent and in need of maintenance, and the course operates on a cash-only basis.

Great views especially on the back 9, fun course to play. CASH ONLY. Price to play is quite reasonable, the course does reflect however well maintained! Nice little hidden gem, I would recommend calling to check how busy they are even during the week. Great golf course for the money and beautiful views that can't be beat. Set your expectations correctly and you'll love this place. There are some sand spots on greens and the grass isn't the best all around, but for the money you really can't beat it! Great place to learn and practice golf in central Virginia!

This is a quaint golf course with great views. The greens are not consistent, but it is still an enjoyable experience. The staff is friendly and the history here is wonderful. If you are in the area, no need for a reservation. You should stop in, play a few holes or the course.

Great family run course! The pricing is great all around. The Langs, along with their staff members, are some of the friendliest folks around. If you get a chance to see the owner, Pete, chat with him. He loves seeing people and is glad to have you! Challenging holes and average holes. Incredible views.

The course itself was alright, a few rough patches here and there but for the price I was very happy with it. A buddy and I walked the course and it was only $16 for 18 holes so I can't complain. The views were awesome and the staff was extremely friendly. I will be coming back again.

Swannanoa is a short, quaint golf course with fantastic views...especially on the back 9. I would give it 3.5 stars. Greens are long and very slow, fairways and rough are cut, but many kinds of grasses and weeds. It has some fun holes and several elevation changes. It was an enjoyable evening.

Fantastic course on the top of the mountain, but the fairways are in their natural state... The green is a fun place where the ball bounces off when you put it with grass instead of grass....

My first ever trip to Swannanoa Golf Course and I loved it.The views are outstanding. The course was nicely maintained and the golf carts were in great condition. There is no sand in the bunkers, but many courses are going that route these days. I got lots of mountain golf practice hitting my ball above and below my feet and out of the rough bunkers. I certainly will go back - the fees are reasonable, the views are priceless, the history of the course is very interesting, and the club house is a blast from the past.
