In summary

Wintergreen Resort is praised for its beautiful mountain setting, well-maintained course conditions, and challenging layout that requires precision due to narrow fairways and elevation changes. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and the variety of amenities, including a driving range, putting green, and the Devil's Grill restaurant, although some express disappointment with limited dining options and the quality of certain meals. Criticisms include inconsistent bunker maintenance, high weekend rates without course changes, and the potential for lost balls in dense rough and fallen leaves.

Nice, if you like trees! The problem is that they don't cut the natural weeds and brush at the treeline. So if your ball slightly rolls in, it's gone. This makes for a rough day unless you're on your game.

Course is beautiful and the altitude means the ball travels miles! Greens were recently aerated so slow and bumpy, but I'm sure they will recover quickly!

Great layout, lots of fun. Well kept and played fast. Was slightly disappointed at the small number of views on the course. Most holes are so framed by the trees that there was no view of the mountains. I would definitely play again!

The great things about this course: The grounds were in fantastic condition and the views are great, probably one of the nicest courses with the best layout I have played in a very long time. That being said, the staff is very very rude and it left a very bad vibe within the large group we had, we will probably go elsewhere for our next golf gathering.

Pretty solid course! Bunkers were almost unplayable but partially due to the rain, but still not raked well on our second round. Played on a Thursday/Friday. Biggest problem would be paying more to play on Friday for weekend rates and the pins were in the same spot as the evening before. If you are going to charge more, a different experience on the weekend versus the weekday would be nice. Big plus: greens role true and fast.

Played as part of a golf package with the resort. Layout tight but playable. Some blind shots typical of mountain courses. Greens in very good condition. Fairways and tee boxes average. Rough was essentially clover. Bunkers in average (some below average) condition. Based on the description of the course on the website and being a resort course, had higher expectations.

Mountain course with extraordinary views. Very tight layout up and down and around. Put away your driver with the exception of a few holes. Usually in great condition. Always have someone as a spotter for your ball due to the sometimes narrow fairways and doglegs, as well as the leaves. Bring extra balls. It is still worth it. Nice driving range and putting green. There is a snack bar for back breakfast/lunch items. Nice pro shop. Devil's Grill restaurant has very nice patio overlooking 18th green with appropriate food and service, though they have cut back some of their hours, so double check…

Service at the Devils Grille was great, waiters very attentive and helpful but food was disappointing. Very overpriced! The steak was tough, ravioli tasteless, and the spinach tasted like a freezer meal. The Edge or CopperMine are much better and are just down the hill a bit at the ski slopes. Sometimes they’re closed and there aren’t enough dining options at wintergreen.

Beautiful place to get away from the city. Very few amenities in the area though. I wish they had more than 1 restaurant close by.

Played the course 3 weeks before this post. Awesome staff, great layout, superb condition. Firm, challenging greens. Don’t miss the fairways, especially when the leaves have fallen, you will lose a lot of golf balls!

Staff was wonderful. Course conditions were so so. The his course is very narrow, but not so long that it becomes problematic. As long as you don’t try to overpower this course, you’ll do fine.
