In summary

Tahoe City Golf Course is appreciated for its beautiful location, friendly staff, and well-maintained greens, making it a pleasant spot for a quick round of golf. The course offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with additional amenities like a small ice rink and opportunities for winter activities. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance during construction, rental equipment quality, and the presence of geese on the fairways.

I rarely play golf but we’re in Tahoe and I’m playing golf with some friends today and this course is super pretty. It’s mid October and there’s barely anyone here on a Wednesday. My one complaint here is going to be that there’s Canadian geese everywhere. Now that’s a little hyperbole, but there are a lot of Canadian geese and there’s a lot of turds on the fairway. The course is super beautiful and it’s really a beautiful location to play if you’d like to golf I would suggest coming here

Super chill golf course! The staff were really friendly and easygoing. We got on the course without any hassle and everything ran smoothly. Had a great time – will definitely be back! 🏌️‍♂️

Awesome place to walk your dog during the closed winter season. Groomed paths, great view of the mountains and level walking for miles. Bring a leash and control your dog because unfortunately, there are occasionally idiots that don't while you are out there.

Open fairways with minimal chance of collateral damage..great place for scratch golfing! Nice folks and well maintained, nice greens! One star off due to golf cart paths needing improvement.

If you want to get a quick 9 for the day this place is really good for it. Course is kept in good condition and pace of play is fairly quick. Watch out for mosquitos though

Course is nice but very under construction. I only gave 2 stars because the grounds keepers were extremely kind people and helped me find a missing club. Can’t say the same about the front desk worker, he was extremely rude and tried scamming us over a golf cart. The sprinklers were on at our next hole and he told us to “go through it” he was very unfriendly and gave me a bad energy. Will not be coming back.

Well let me tell you something — places like this are hard to come by these days. I’ve been playing golf longer than most folks have been alive, and walking onto the Tahoe City Golf Course felt like stepping back in time. Back when the game was about fresh air, a decent swing, and a good buddy to share the round with — not all this fancy GPS cart nonsense and $200 green fees. The course? She’s got character. Quirky? Sure. A little rough around the edges? Maybe. But you know what? So am I. And just like me, this course has seen some things — and it still delivers. The staff? Real salt-of-the-…

Good little short course. Perfect for the average golfer. Staff was very helpful. Rental clubs were better than expected. Greens were very quick. Would golf here again.

$15 for sledding is a joke. Pay $10 more and go to a much better, more fun place just a few minutes away. They started cleaning the ice skating rink without any warning—just drove their snow-clearing machine right onto the rink while kids were still having fun and shut it down. Absolutely pissed off. Overall, a negative experience, but I’ll give one extra star for the location and views.

Looking for a place to sled?… keep looking. For $15 per person they could a little bit of a bank on the sides so you could avoid hitting the fence every time. There’s other places I’ve been to that bring the sleds up to the top for you for a few bucks more. It did have an ice skating rink that you could rent skates which isn’t very common.

I booked a tee time over the phone only to arrive to a hellscape of a golf course. They had failed to mention that the entire golf course was under construction and multiple holes were closed entirely. Rented a set of clubs only to find that the putter was missing and the driver was broke. Avoid at all costs as they should be charging something close to nothing for this debacle of a course.
