What People Say

In summary

Ted Rhodes Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout with water hazards and bunkers, and affordable pricing. However, many visitors express dissatisfaction with the customer service, citing rude and unprofessional staff, inconsistent communication, and issues with tee time bookings. Additionally, some golfers note that parts of the course, particularly the back nine, can be muddy and in need of better upkeep.

This was a well kept secret and the greens were spectacular. This is the one good thing Metro Government has done with the guidance of tried and true Parks service employees. The greens keeper for this course is doing a superb job. Lots of water and carts are clean and fast. Perfect place for a midweek getaway and to squeeze in 9 holes or 18.

Ted Rhodes was an excellent golf course! Very nice! Great upkeep. Prices were decent for walking. I don't know cart prices. It's a bit more spread out than many courses, which makes for more walking. It's not terrible; just know it's more, especially from hole 1 to 2 and 8 to 9.

Booked through phone for a 1130 tee time. When we got there, they knew nothing about it. So confused what happened. Some rude man got in front of us and said “I’m actually the 1130 time”. Just not a positive atmosphere!

This course boasts water hazards and bunkers throughout, and the greens were kept nice and tight! After a long drive walking 9 was just what I needed, and at an affordable price. My interactions with patrons and employees were positive and friendly! Not to mention this course has a rich history, sense of place and time .

The staff here is terrible. One of the worst clubhouses in Metro. The staff inside the clubhouse and around the clubhouse have to be one of the worst/ rudest set of people In the volunteer state with the body language, and eye roles you can get. YOU CANT GET ANYONE TO ANSWER THE CALLS FOR TEE TIMES.

Called to make two tee times (for 6 people) and the guy was extremely rude. Asked me if I was a local or not, because evidently that impacts the availability of tee times, and then wouldn't give me a straight answer on rental clubs (we need one set). Some questionable, if not illegal behavior going on for a muni course to pick and choose who can and can't play

First the staff. Awful customer service. They scuff and shake their head when you approach them asking if they accept walk ins. Always have an attitude for no reason. Why do you do this job if you hate it? Folks just wanting to have a good time and the staff just makes everyone miserable. The course has potential. But only the front 9. They raised prices across metro, but this one needs TLC.

Awful course. Just a waste of $55. The back 9 is a flood plain. It hasn’t rained in a week but you’re hitting off mud and dirt on the back 9 every time. What a joke. They also don’t have range balls. What course doesn’t have range balls? You have to hit your own balls. This place sucks big time. Stay away from this place.

Pretty and tough course, but your green fees are unnoticed in the quality of the holes. Sand traps are either watering holes or dry and hard. Ben was very rude to my group for showing up on time, and he was badgering us to tee off with another group in the fairway.

Mike was not nice to female golfers, we came here for a work outing and he came to our hole multiple times telling us to hurry up before other guest got there in 2 hours... He seemed to only say something to the female golfers becasue he claimed it would take us 7 hours to finish the course. Everyone else working was friendly but it seemed like we were being targeted becase we were an all female group.

Pretty standard Muny course. Careful at the desk, though. Everything rang up more than they said it would cost, and they acted like it was no problem. The golf was quoted at 15 bucks a piece for me and friend, and somehow it ended up 54 total. Then I bought four sleeves of balls quoted at 2 dollars a piece and it came in at 24 dollars, and dude acted like nothing was wrong. Small extra costs, but just annoying. If I didn't care about money I'd go play a nice course. Course was in decent shape, though. Greens pretty nice for a cheap-o Muny in a not-so-great neighborhood.
