The Duke at Rancho el Dorado is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and attentive staff, with many visitors enjoying the scenic views and dining experiences at the on-site grill. The course is noted for its excellent greens and fairways, complemented by a welcoming atmosphere and good food service. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the slow pace of play and occasional issues with course conditions, such as muddy fairways and rocky sand traps.

The course was in great condition and the green rolled very well, but the pace was depressing. Over 4 hours and only got 14 holes in before dark. One par 3 had 4 groups waiting on the tee box. Dissapointing to pay that much and have a pace of over 5 hours.

We had a wonderful experience dining at the grill for breakfast on a Friday morning. The steak was thin and the eggs were overcooked. But the service was phenomenal. we really enjoyed the views, the coffee, and the service. Their sausage links, country potatoes, and English muffin were all delectable.

Really nice layout with lots of undulation and 7000 from the tip. Not really a hard course but it's nice. Greens were a little slow and bunkers wet although they did have sand.

Played Monday morning the course was in amazing shape, incredible greens that were pretty fast and had a good amount of movement. Fairways can be narrow with plenty of fairway bunkers but this was one of the best rounds in a while. Good challenge looking forward to playing again

Our book club met at Silver Spur Grill last night. Very loud while the golf tournament people were there, but they cleared out and we were able to have a really nice conversation about our book. My food was great. I had the bacon blue burger, which was so good and a side salad very fresh with extra ingredients, very large portion.

The experience was really good, had not been in a long time. We tried to get a hot deal early in the morning but is sold out then an even earlier tee time opened up. It was cold, and mist was coming off high wash levels. The course was in good condition and challenging traps with high walls. Good food and drink service at the turn too!

Booked this course for a bachelor party, had a last minute addition to make it 5 guys instead of 4 and the guy in the pro shop was extremely understanding and accommodated the change. Course is in great condition, each hole is challenging in its own way. The bunker sand is soft and light. Course has an awesome spur logo and they sell hats with them on it in the pro shop. Highly recommend playing this course, it’s absolutely worth the drive from Phoenix.

We ate there last Friday and ordered one of the fried fish fries and the baked fish for lunch and they were both excellent! The servers were top-notch and very kind! We follow their cart girl on TikTok for all of her wonderful drink concoctions!

Haven’t played here in over 6 years, glad our group was able to play this past Saturday. Overall, the course is in great shape, fairways were nice and greens ran very true. Service was excellent and food really good. *** What bothered me the most, this has nothing to do with the course or staff, is the golfers at this course. If you’re too lazy to fix your ball marks, you shouldn’t play. I fixed mine and many others on most of the greens. Golfers are quick to complain about conditions, yet are 90% of the cause. FIX YOUR BALL MARKS PEOPLE. It’s really easy to do.

Have you ever had breakfast with Jon H.? Let me paint you a picture of how it goes: Joyce: I could really use some butter for my rye toast. Jon H.: *hoarding the butter, seemingly not hearing Joyce* Joyce: *eating an unsatisfying piece of toast with only jelly, still complaining about the lack of butter* Jon H.: *generously slathering butter onto his pancakes while humming Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!"* Breakfast in Maricopa? Why not! After a quick drive over the mountains and through the woods, we met up at this cute place on a golf course for breakfast. I ordered the Maricopa Omelet w…

I was pleasantly surprised how well this course drains. We got a LOT of rain during our round and the green still rolled pure. It was nice to see the geese join the course with us. Great to see the wildlife and enjoy a pleasant day in a very well run league. Very well kept landscaping.
