In summary

The Lost Marsh Golf Club is widely praised for its beautiful and well-maintained course, featuring a challenging layout with significant water hazards, especially on the first few holes. Visitors appreciate the friendly and engaging staff, as well as the quality of food and amenities available at the clubhouse. However, some guests have noted issues with pin placements, tee box conditions, and occasional management or scheduling mishaps, such as unexpected sprinkler activation or overzealous course monitoring.

Beautiful course with amazing people! Tough first 5 holes for sure with water everywhere which is absolutely beautiful, but also makes it challenging. Had a super fun day and special shout out to the Food and Beverage Director, Crystal for great recommendations, and being super fun and engaging, and also to the starter, Ron, who found my wedge and brought it straight to me. Wonderful people there all around!

The course is very well maintained. I did have a problem with some of the pin placements. If you can survive the first five holes, the course ease up a bit. It is a course that you have to think about your shots

Great well maintained course!!! Lots of water hazards... Not for the high handicappers. I suggest you leave your egos behind and play a tee forward than you usually do. You will thank me later for this advice!!! They also have good food at the 2nd Floor of the Club House. This place is Highly Recommended!!! Prices for Green and Food were well worth it.

This course is amazing! Layout is fabulous and it’s very well kept. If you’re able to place the ball then you can score here if you can’t, hope you know how to count well. Greens are in immaculate shape. I keep seeing peoples comments about the price but a course in this shape where I am from is $135+. Top notch public course. Oh yeah big deal that it’s in Hammond, evolve out of your bubble if that bothers you. Lastly, staff wasn’t just great, they were so fun! The starter had my girlfriend and I cracking up and was totally engaged in conversation. Lost marsh management- great job on the pr…

The layout was exceptional, there was a few elevation changes which challenged the golfer who dares to step on the course. A few of the greens were in bad shape in a few spots, but they had a little speed to them. Also they were very soft and spongy. Some of the tee boxes had seen better days, but all in all I didn't go to the course to worry about the tee box. Number 1 started me off excited because after playing in Florida for the past few years, hitting down to a slight dogleg left fairway with water on either side running all the way to the green, left me ready for the rest of the course a…

Fantastic Company Golf Outing at Lost Marsh I recently hosted a company golf outing at Lost Marsh, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. The staff in the golf shop were incredibly accommodating, making sure all of our coworkers got out on the course efficiently and on time. A special shout-out to Nicol in reservations, who kept in constant communication throughout the scheduling process. Even when we had to reschedule the date, they were flexible and didn’t charge us a cancellation fee, something we really appreciated. If you’re planning a company outing or golf eve…

Don't ever play anything remotely twighlight at this course. Course is great, crew and employees are usually very pleasant encounters. We booked a 5:12p tee time and the course was pretty empty so pace was better than average. We start noticing the sprinklers on certain holes around 7p and thought it was maybe the front 9 since it was likely empty. By 7:30, we are soaked by a sprinker that turns on mid-hole, golfers all over encountering the same thing on-course. Sun was still up, the sunset was not happening until after 8pm. Ranger had also told us we would get countdown alerts on the cart te…

This is a fantastic course. Difficult if you can't hit the ball straight. Many undulations. A wonderful course to play, though. It's a bit on the pricey side but that's why the course is in fantastic shape. The sand traps are the best kept I've seen. I highly recommend you play this course. They do have a short 9-hole course also.

We had my father's memorial luncheon there. The food is phenomenal. Best banquet food I've ever had. Some of the best food I have ever eaten. I like my steak more rare than they cooked it. But it was still delicious and tender. Chicken breast was great and the Vodka Pasta was delicious. The servers were on top of their game. The bar staff was very friendly and helping. I can't wait to try th couse. The entire atmosphere is enjoyable. The view of downtown Chicago, Wolfe Lake, and the course from the balcony is unforgettable.

I love the golf course - even though the first 5 holes are some of the most absurdly designed starting holes ever created - but the price is a bit much. This used to be the best deal in greater Chicago, but now - not so much. Course is always well maintained and the on-course beverages/snacks are reasonably priced. If they lowered green fees, and tweaked a couple holes, it would be a 10/10
