In summary

Jackson Park Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained course, friendly staff, and historical significance, offering a challenging yet enjoyable golfing experience at a reasonable price. Many visitors commend the course layout and the overall condition of the greens and fairways. However, some criticisms include issues with the quality of the bunkers, occasional slow pace of play, and isolated incidents of subpar customer service.

This is a good course to play, but recently I've been a bit upset with them. 1. The price is way to high for a Park District course. 2. They charge $20 extra PER PERSON for a damn cart. Way too much. 3. The bunkers are trash, it's not even sand, it's freakin' dirt. Literally DIRT. The dirt was so hard, I actually putted out onto the green. They should be ashamed of their bunkers, and their 2 blocks from the beach!!! Overall it's a decent course but it makes no sense that Marquette Parks course in in better condition than Jackson Parks. GET IT TOGETHER. I'm starting to not play here.

I love the range. My father played there in the 50's. That means alot to me. The service is exceptional.

I preface this 5 stars due to the price being the best deal in town, $25 bucks to walk 18 holes in Chicago is unprecedented and appreciated. The course has its challenges but with the “Obama Tiger complex” in flux well see what becomes of this relic in a few short years. Highly recommended while it’s still here.

We were rushed by an employee that had a family member playing behind us. We had been waiting on the group ahead of us all day, but she didnt bother trying to speak with them as well. Didn't get to enjoy our last few holes as we were being watched and rushed by the employee the whole time. Really disappointed that we spent a decent amount of money as this was a birthday celebration.

Jackson Park Golf Course. Challenging fairways and greens. Play was brisk, completed a four hour round and still time for a drink... or two. Holes areixed between short par 5 and long par 3's. Narrow drives keep you out of the bunkers, short irons out of the drink. Bunkers are compacted dirt, so no way to wedge your way through. There are many courses that offer great deals but Jackson Park Golf Course comes through with 18 holes and cart for under $55 per person.

Reserved a 4some for a Monday last week. As I checked I was treated with great service and seamless execution. The ranger was engaging, friendly and helpful. Our group had a most wonderful experience and great day! We finished 18 holes in just less than 4 hours. Thanks, we will be back!

The people here are super friendly, both the folks who work there and the players. We had a fantastic afternoon on a relaxed course. (I'm not a golfer so I don't take this as a review of the course itself, read other reviews for that).

I’m not rating this three stars because of the course. The course is great, fun, challenging, and beautiful! I’m rating it three stars because of the group in front of us. They were hitting at least three balls, and one of the guys would leave their bag before the hole, and when he would pick it up, he would then walk through the bunker to the next hole without raking it. I would recommend the course, but not that group.

Had to check out where they were building the Obama Library. I ended up dropping into a really cool golf course!

That elderly blonde lady is mean. Its not just a "bad day" thing either — she is permanently like that. No idea what her problem is. Also, I lost a golf club there the other day and called and she says you’ll just have to come by and see the lost and found yourself. She thinks it’s more convenient for me to drive an hour and search for my golf club then for her to turn around (the lost and found is literally like 5 clubs sitting behind where she stands at the register) and search for it herself. I went anyways because I am passive and don't know how to stand up for myself and guess what -- it…

The course itself is good. If people understood that you need to replace your divots in the fairway/teebox, fix the divots on the greens and remove old tees after your tee shot this course would be very good as is. However, the "sand traps" are gaaarrrbbbaaaaggggeeee! It's dirt, early onset gravel, NOT sand. Fixing this would take this course to a great level. This course has so much potential although the powers that be don't want to pay for it without significant public money.

Quiet and in overall decent condition. Bunker sand quality could be better. Staff is friendly and helpful.
