In summary

Marquette Park Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens and fairways, offering a picturesque and challenging 9-hole layout that provides a great value for golfers. The staff, particularly Nick, is often highlighted for their friendliness and dedication to ensuring a positive experience. While the course is generally in good condition, some visitors mention issues with standing water after heavy rain and note that the driving range can feel secluded and lacks security.

I love coming here to get a quick 9 holes in. They keep this course up very nice. The greens are the best in the city. The price is great and the people that come are here to have fun. I try to play here at least once a week. The wildlife is in full effect also.

Love this course—a hidden gem in the CPD portfolio. Nick stands out as one of the friendliest, most accommodating staff I’ve interacted with at any course. He gets to know the golfers and really cares about your experience. My son and I regularly play here together and have great memories. The course itself is usually in great shape and is a fun challenge with some longer holes and plenty of challenging shots. I love the range but it can feel unsafe at times since it is secluded and there are usually no staff out there. A shame, since it’s the best practice facility in the city IMO.

My first time playing here. The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. Pace of play was outstanding and the course itself was in pretty good shape. We’ve had some heavy rain lately so it was wet but that was expected. You could tell they were doing their best to remove the rainwater from the course. Even with all the rain the greens were still in great shape. With a Chicago Park District golf membership it was only $15 for 9 holes. Also after the first few holes, the scenery and nature transport you out of the city. I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this course.

I normally don't leave reviews, but I was so pleasantly surprised today when playing this course! My golf buddy said the staff were great at check-in. The course is well maintained. On some holes, it is so peaceful that you don't even know you're on the SW side of Chicago. Can't beat the value as well for walking nine. Pace of play was good, and the course was not backed up or overbooked. The only thing to watch out for is the wildlife, mostly geese, who can make playing a little difficult in some areas. I would recommend playing here, especially if you're on the fence given the City location.

First stop was IMAN who gave my friends and I historical context. We arrived with easy street parking alongside the road. We read every part of the memorial. We offered inter Faith prayers, called on our ancestors, made a land acknowledgement, and prayed for the local people.

Super nice course, pretty cheap, nice greens, super cool staff. I never knew there was a course in the southside and I would imagine it being all bogus/ghetto but to my surprise I felt like I was in a suburb. And you don’t need to worry about bringing a stereo because there’s always music playing from the neighbors. Only bad thing is there is no cart girl, make sure to bring your drinks!

For the price, great. Full size 9 hole course with long par 3s, and moderate par 5s. Usually not busy. You won't lose a ton of balls here, and the greens are normally smooth rolling and moderate speed. Best CPD course. Wish it had 18!

Can't beat the value. Decently well maintained course and enough hole variety. Really solid 9 hole course for the price.

Having spent over 60 years enjoying all aspects of this historical park playing basketball, softball, fishing, and necking. And now only left to impersonating a golfer, I am very impressed at what great shape this 9 hole course is in. Nick and his staff are doing a fantastic job with maintaining this weathered old beauty while also providing fast and friendly service. Carts are clean, quick, and new. Greens fee for seniors cheaper than a McDonald's happy meal.
