In summary

The Pines Golf Club at Fort Eustis is appreciated for its well-maintained fairways, challenging layout, and friendly staff, with amenities including a driving range and practice areas. Many find the course to be a good value, especially for military personnel, and enjoy the scenic setting. However, some visitors have noted issues with the condition of the greens, slow pace of play, and occasional service shortcomings.

Because of the many amenities and reasonable pricing, I've started golfing about 3 times a week. They have a huge driving range, practice sand trap, putting green, a short course (6 holes), 9 holes, and 18 holes that are very well kept.

Per trash. Greens are covered in dead spots. Fairways brown and dead. Pace of play is slow. No reason to have three groups on one tee box waiting for the group in front without having a marshal , pushing pace of play.

The fairways were in pretty good conditions, but the greens had brown patches all over. Putting was ridiculous! Those were the worst greens I’ve ever seen! Course manager needs to be fired!!!

Played today and was eaten alive by mosquitoes. Literal swarms of them. I mentioned it to the groundskeeper and he said public works lost the contract and they have been unable to spray. These things happen, but when I got to the pro shop at the turn and asked if they had bug spray, the clerk said nope and laughed. If the mosquitos are such a problem (and they were), they should mention it when you book a tee time to better prepare golfers or keep some in stock. Had I known they were so bad, I certainly would have brought some spray. I only didn’t give one star because the groundskeeper was a…

Fun course with a fun layout. Course wasn’t in the best shape when we went (early august) but starter said it was due to lack of rain so I’ll give them a pass. Everyone was friendly and it was a decent price. If you use your watch for distances like me though you might have a tough time as service is hard to come by here. Overall good experience.

$200+/mo for membership is outrageous. Especially when you consider that Langley is $115 and Fort Gregg-Adams formerly Fort Lee near Petersburg is only $90/mo. Fairways & Greens could be better but I'd put them below avg. Starters a nice guy but I'm not sure what the point of having one is as no one manages the flow of the game here. Clubhouse is nice, staff working the counter are nice.

Man… Fort Eustis got this golf course called The Pines, and lemme tell you—this place is like a mullet in khakis. Looks real professional up front, but there’s still just a little party goin’ on in the back nine. Now don’t get me wrong—this ain’t some beat-up pasture behind a Walmart. This course has charm. Like... you tee off and feel like maybe your life ain’t in shambles. The greens? Pretty decent. Fairways? Mostly grass, which is more than I can say for some places. And every so often you’ll see a deer wander by lookin’ like he’s judging your swing. That’s fine. He’s probably right. The…

Love this course. It's in decent shape, especially for the price. The other people on the course are genuinely friendly. It never seems to be packed. The pro shop has the essentials. Driving range is cheap and there are no mats which I despise. The course is semi challenging. Really like it here. I just really wish there was an open club house to order food after the round! Or a cart to bring some food around but I suppose that's the sacrifice made for a cheaper cost. I can respect that! Will return here often!

Prices good for golf . I like not having to hit off mats at the driving range. Nice chipping and sand trap area for practice. Range balls could be in better condition or just replaced .

Impressive gem on a base. Fortunate to have a buddy who is a veteran. Challenging tees for those who like the tips, not me! Generous fairways. Can avoid hazards if can drive well. Also, generous greens and relatively fast. Fortunately, they are mostly flat lies. Staff hospitable. Will see aircraft often.

Visiting Ft Eustis while i am at AIT and for 12$ green fees you sure can't beat it. The greens were fantastic, the course was in good shape. I saw a few other golfers on the course but played 18 holes in around 3 hours. Will be back again tomorrow lol.

Course was in great shape and even on a beautiful autumn Saturday we never saw anyone else except for the last hole. Greens rolled great and the fairways/tee boxes were pretty close to perfect even with all the rain
