The Preserve Golf Club at Saddlebrooke

I came for lunch and was left speechless by the view from the dining room. As a native Tucson I was taken away by the beauty. The restaurant is lovely. The staff was wonderful and attentive and the food was incredible. Garlic fries!!! 🤤🤤🤤Highly recommended.

Not a good experience. Thought I would invite a couple of Stone Canyon Club members to play this course. While the course is well maintained and challenging, the pace of play is not well managed and marshalled. When making the turn, we communicated that the pace of play was extremely slow, backed up with four(4) groups. We decided at that point we would go to the Pro Shop and ask for consideration to credit our cards and charge for nine holes. A gem in the Tucson area! Played 6 courses in Tucson and Phoenix on a guys trip in November 2024, and this was our favorite! Amazing views and elevated teeboxes on a majority of holes, great condition, fun, peaceful, good pace, friendly staff, everything a golf course should be! Only minor downsides: range is present but not included, they charge hidden extra fees on anything paid with a credit card, no service cart or halfway house, so bring your own lunch or snacks.

Beautiful layout and nice elevation changes. Well worth the travel to get there. Plenty of challenge but mostly fair. The one knock on the course is that sometimes the greens are too shaggy and need to be cut lower to get to normal. Played twice, first time the stimp meter had to be no greater than 6. Next time time was about 8.

In a word, stunning. We played here today and enjoyed a round with the snow-capped mountains in the background. It took a while to get to, but 100% worth it. IMHO, the most beautiful course in Tucson!

The course is beautiful, the scenery even better! The guy in the pro shop should mention there’s a 3.5% charge for using a credit card. He should also mention there is no beverage cart on the course, so folks could get something right there in the clubhouse. Also surprised to find no GPS on the carts and often the phone signal was weak to non existent to get the information of each hole on our phones. Confirm your rate! I called and booked time and confirmed rate of $49. When I got to the course they added $10 to green fee. I asked why? Counter rep said there is a $10 cart fee. I explained that I was told it was $49 (which was the price I paid the week before.) Rep said it was because of dynamic pricing, hence the 3 stars. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

The course is challenging but playable. Lots of elevation changes and sand traps. First time players should grab a course book to avoid hitting into washes that cross some holes. My only kick is that, like the other SaddleBrooke courses, they don't have visible distance markers. How hard is it to stick a red, white and blue stake in the ground?

I typically play this course 4 or 5 times every winter. Fantastic mountain views and a very good golf course. It is fairly difficult with some forced carries, tricky greens, etc. which may be too much for the high handicappers. Clubhouse and restaurant are excellent.

Greens were outstanding. Greens held, great speed and putted very true. Beautiful views on just about every hole. Getting ready for overseed, so fairways ran well. Going back next week.

The Preserve golf course is always a challenge. It is a great layout, excellent views, however, today, May 5, 2021, the course is in terrible condition. They are charging upward of $65 for 18 holes, save your money, unless you have the inside scoop that the golf course is in great shape.

We went to the restaurant. They have a decent wine list. I have had most of their selection at other locales. I guess some people must like the same things that I do. The food is good. Finely done with attention to the details. Truly fine dining.
