In summary

Twisted Dune Golf Club is widely praised for its challenging, well-maintained course with a unique and scenic links-style layout. Many appreciate the friendly and accommodating staff, as well as the course's good value for the price. However, some visitors have noted issues with bunker conditions, pin placements, and occasional staff rudeness, which can detract from the overall experience.

What a beauty. Not sure if it fits the category “hidden gem” - as I’m an out of towner - but it wasn’t overly busy and I had a blast Not sure you’ll get better value for ~$80 - better than Seaview for example, imho

Twisted Dunes is hard! Excellent and extremely challenging design. This may be one of the most difficult golf courses I ever played. Tricks of the eye make approaches and tee shots intimidating. Sometimes expansive tiered greens and narrow to wide angle plays made every shot a true challenge. Also, it’s a little long: some par 4’s from the whites even with a great drive result in a long iron onto the green and some par 3’s may be out of reach for some who play from the whites. The facilities were much better than other reviews reported. I brought my own drinks but I didn’t have to. Cart girl.…

Twisted Dune was tougher than I expected, but once I found my rhythm, it turned into a really fun round. The course is beautiful, with a true links-style layout and great conditions. We had a minor issue early on with a ranger concerned about pace of play, though we were actually being held up by a slower group ahead—no big deal. The rest of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I’d heard the greens were lightning fast, but they rolled reasonably—definitely slower than most private tracks I’ve played. For the price and location, it’s a great value. I’d definitely play here again.

The course was very nice and good fun challenge. However both the guy in the clubhouse and the cart guy were extremely rude and had an attitude with me and my 2 buddies. I get it we are the 5:45 tee time and you expected the rain to come and get you out early. But the rain held off we had the tee time booked and we finished 8/9 holes we paid for. They were extremely disrespectful and snarky with us. If anyone of my employees acted that way towards a customer they would be gone immediately.

One of my favorite courses in New Jersey! I played Twisted Dune many times, year-round, back when I was a member of Empire Golf. Always in great shape, it can be long and difficult, but a fun experience every time. We played it many times in the winter when our central NJ courses were closed, with temps in the teens and twenties. Golf, you gotta love it!

Course was beautiful. The starter was polite and informative. I always heard great things about this course and it lived up to the hype!

Great track except for the bunkers full of stones. Fairway’s and greens always in great shape!

When I started golfing, I hated this corse and swore I'd never play it again because I lost so many balls and scored so poorly. Just played it on a warmer winter day, and all the reeds/weeds were cut down and I could see the course as well as find my ball. Ended up scoring incredible and really enjoying this course. I'm going to try it again in the summer now that I don't suck as much. Def not a beginner course, growing enough to appreciate the incredible design.

Great course as I have played it 5 or 6 times now. However today was not enjoyable at all. Pin placements set up for an employee scramble with “superintendent’s revenge “ locations. Fine but don’t charge full price for someone trying to play a legitimate round. Hole number 7 placement was laughable. I decided not to pick up my ball until holed and took a 10 putt. After complaining at the turn the pro advised that he would have the stupid pins moved. The back nine was better after getting the complaints off my chest and more reasonable pins.

Great pace and challenging holes.. Some par 3s were very difficult to play them into the wind.. Not overly expensive for the area and much better than others in the area.. Highly recommended...

Rather minimalist golf experience. Small clubhouse without a liquor license, so its BYOB. Small margin for error off of the tee boxes and long par 3s make this a challenging course. Definitely a players course.

NO LONGER BYOB Wanted to put 4/5 for that but honestly I had such a good experience that I couldn't justify it. I would say that they should put on their main page that it's no longer BYOB because I felt a little mislead showing up and being told I can't bring my beer in. Staff was super helpful and told us they don't close, you finish when you can. I've never been told this so that was amazing to hear. This is an extremely challenging course, I played like crap but I'll definitely be back (rain didn't help) Greens are lightning fast as well!
