#1 Public course I can recommend. I don’t play the same course twice 98% of the time because I like to see them all. Not many places I haven’t played in North or South Central Texas. Vaaler is just special. If you like championship style golf courses where you don’t have to worry about pace of play, while also only being able to see one hole at a time - this is a great spot to check out. Price wise it’s on the higher end but the course makes it worth it. Perfect course maintenance, modern carts, a friendly starter, and overall beautiful hill country background. Have fun with the beach-sized bu…

A really nice course. It has some very unique features and some of the greens are almost “too” undulating to a point where it’s putt-putt golf. But aside from those and if you put your ball on the right tier you can still score good. My buddy shot a 79 on his first round here. We won’t talk about my score. Lol. They have an excellent active duty/military retiree rate, too! PS I don’t know how the houses in this course have any windows. They are at EXACTLY the worst locations almost like they are daring you to hit them. Once you play here, you’ll see what I mean.

Course is in fantastic shape and offers a challenge for avid golfers. Price is fair and pace of play was pretty good as well. The greens were healthy and fairways were lush.

A wonderful golf experience! Not only are you welcomed by courteous staff to start your round, but you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The reason for the four stars instead of five is because of the slow pace of the course due to being very busy and the tee boxes are not visually color coded. It was difficult to know which tee box was white or blue. The nice gentleman gave us a tip and indicated they are arranged in red, white, and blue order (clever). Additionally, the young lady at the shack (where you can buy drinks and snacks) was not very welcoming. She made me feel as though I was bo…

A luxurious neighborhood with high end homes and 1 acre plus homesites with no time frame to build, on the foothills of Blanco Texas. I may have purchase one of the last slots...see attached photos. It has a world renown golf course and excellent amenities to include an Olympic size swimming pool with a pavillion, a catch and release fishing pond and nature trails...it is beautiful throughout the community. Its about a 40 minute drive from San Antonio and the city of Blanco has a beautiful state park literally minutes away..The only think I wish was for would be make provision for "temporary "…

I loved the golf course. It was in great shape. The greens were challenging to read, it will take a few rounds to get them down, this was my first time there. I shot 78 with 33 putts, I'm normally around 27 or 28 in a round.

We’re just having horrible weather. The course is in great shape. The greens were fantastic. Really enjoyed the course.

It's worth the trek to rural Texas for this gold course. Pro shop doesn't have much make sure you have all your gear. The driving range is a good trek from the clubhouse so either take a cart or drive on your own. The course is great. Nice rolling fairways and some elevated and sunken greens. Good water hazards and plenty of traps to avoid.

UPDATE as of 14 JUN 2024: The course conditions were so so. Albeit this was the first time I was off the cart path and it was nice to not have to schlep your clubs through the course. The greens were painted green and had a ton of areas where the overseed has not yet come to full growth. (See photo) This is an update based on playing this past Thanksgiving weekend. REVISED REVIEW: So I am going to be brutally honest. First time I played the course and was restricted to cart path only, I understood due to the heavy rains. However the other day when I played, the Weather was perfect (for fall…

Course layout is quite odd. Homes often too near to holes, fairways often too small for average golfers. To improve pace of play, #2 and #18 should be redesigned and 1/3 of the greens should be rebuilt/regraded. I played it with skilled players 2-12 handicap. We didn’t feel like the course was a fair test of golf.

I'm changing my 5 star to a 1 star review, not due to the course itself, it's due to the lack of consideration by management and maintenance to protect my home. We live on the 18th green and our house and vehicles have been getting pummeled by golfers attempting to drive the green on this par 4 for the past 4 years. The message on the GPS state that there is a house in line with the green, and not to attempt to drive the green. I have asked numerous times to put up a fence or tall bushes, but nothing has ever gotten done about it. Long hitters continue to ignore the GPS and attempt to drive th…
