What People Say

In summary

Village Green Public Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and good amenities, including a nice driving range and practice green. However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the staff's customer service, noting unfriendly interactions and issues with management. Additionally, there are concerns about the pace of play and the handling of large groups, which have affected the overall experience for some golfers.

From the start I had a poor experience, got into the club house and was attempting to pay and the guy behind the counter gave me plenty of attitude, then he forced me to take a cart even though I didn’t ask for one and wouldn’t allow me not to take one. This created an uncharge on my bill, very frustrating. The greens were fine but rounding the third hole all of the sprinklers were on, I find this to be wild having to play through sprinklers without any sort of discount. This place is not the quality that I expected for the price.

This golf course was great! Amenities, bathrooms, and carts were good. Cart trails could use some improvements with asphalt. Lots of water obstacles, but still fun.

Somehow the highest priced by a huge margin and in the worst condition out of all the courses, including municipal courses, I have played on. Fairways are basically dirt with patches of grass. Very dissatisfied.

Course is fun, but management is terrible and less than friendly. Russ shouldn't be customer facing and gives preference to the 'regulars'. Stick to Fargo courses.

Nice course. Greens were challenging, course was in great condition. Lost 5 balls in the water. Ah well, still had a blast.

Nice course. Slightly more challenging than local beginner courses, but still beginner friendly. Nice driving range and practice green too.

Unfortunately, my experience at this course was overshadowed by how unfriendly and unwelcoming the staff were. From the moment I arrived, it felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a guest. Golf is supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing, but the attitude and lack of basic courtesy here made it anything but. The course itself may be decent, but customer service matters — and this place really missed the mark. She knows she is rude - everyone knows she is rude.... and nothing is done to hold her accountable.

Great course conditions and layout. Played when visiting from the Twin Cities and will play here again

Incredibly rude club house staff. He had an attitude from the second we checked in and decided to chew us out on the turn for our pace of play (we're not the most skilled; but we weren't messing around out there). This is a public course in Moorhead, so chill out. In general, very unwelcoming and a good example of why some find golf to be unapproachable. To the club house guy who felt it was necessary to be a jerk, do better!

Nice course. Fair price. Front 9 is open and average difficulty, back 9 is the old 9 and is between houses and tougher. Nice practice area. Very nice putting green. Very nice driving range

Golfed there twice first time I golfed there people were very stuck up. The 2nd time I went there the staff was rude and I brought my own cart got told to rent one or pay the yearly trail fee. Should be made into a private club with the stuck up people and rude staff. I will never go to a Moorhead public golf course again and I'll drive the 20 minutes to Barnesville to play a course where the people and staff are friendly.

Had fun at the John Deere United Way Golf Tournament. This was my 3rd year participating.
