What People Say

In summary

Wampanoag Golf Course is appreciated for its affordability and friendly staff, making it a suitable choice for beginners or those seeking a relaxed golfing experience. Many visitors enjoy the open fairways and well-maintained greens, although some have noted issues with course maintenance, such as overgrown fairways and neglected bunkers. The course's layout and conditions can be inconsistent, particularly after rain, and there are mixed reviews about interactions with management.

Anyone complaining here is overreacting. Cheapest golf course in the area and it’s honestly not bad. Greens are great, fairways and tee boxes are solid for only 18 dollars. If you’re really upset about that, you might need a new hobby. Overall, a great course.

I played there every few days when I retired last September.Got my game right back on track.Bring my wife there it's nice to wide open and there's no pressure no water holes to worry about. We love it.Highly recommend and they have a nice Clubhouse and bar too.

Friendly staff. Nice long holes. It was swamped out when we went but it was after a big rain. Greens are inconsistent hole to hole.

Not a bad place but bunkers need attention and price is kind of high compared to other courses in the area. Has a bit of a farm feel.

Went here today for the first time. Guy who rang me up was really nice and told me grass was a little longer due to issue with mower. I thought the fairways were actually fine. Overall nice course and great value. I’ve played on nicer courses but paid way too much and dealt with snooty people. Been looking for a quiet affordable decent course to work on my game and this place is perfect.

Had a great time. Course was a little wet, basically holes 4/5. As long as you follow the signs should be no issue. Being near the water they have a higher water table so when it rains it takes longer to dry. But on a nice summer day place was awesome. Club house guy was friendly and courteous. Greens and fairways were cut well. Definitely be back!

Terrible experience. I see posts here saying the owner was great? Yeah right. Grade A jerk all around. The course is awful. You literally cannot tell where you’re heading because the fairways are not cut. All the grass is dead. Sand traps are not sand traps. Worst part though was the owner. Will never be going back and will make sure to tell all my friends and family to stay away. Least enjoyable day of my life on a course.

Played here with a few buddies recently. We were trying to book a tee time pretty last minute and this was the only course nearby with open slots. As others have mentioned, the tee pads are in rough shape (most are a bit overgrown with lots of crab grass). The grass on the fairways isn’t terrible, but it’s overgrown which makes it difficult to hit out of. The height of the grass in the fairways is what you would typically see in the rough at most other courses. There aren’t many bunkers, but the few we did encounter had a lot of grass growing in them and clearly aren’t taken care of. The green…

Cant beat the bang for your buck here... not top notch conditions but greens are in better shape than some courses in the area. Holes 8 and 9 are pretty much along the shore of the river so with substantial rains tough to keep those holes fairways dry... great place to get some practice in and enjoy decent scenery tons of wildlife.

Know what you are getting if you are going to go here. Yes the fairways are in rough shape as noted below. The greens are okay though. The bunkers... wow completely overgrown with weeds and have never been racked. the tee boxes were very poorly marked and forget about different yardage as all the color markers are bunched together. Completely feels like management has given up completely plus prices were 20% more than their website list. The layout is beyond confusing, understandable with the changes noted in other reviews but signs are way lacking. On the positive side the fairways were wide…

Terrible conditions on the course, clearly no one takes care of any part of each hole. The tee boxes and fairways are all dirt and dead crabgrass. The greens have divots all over them and none of the greens have a second cut around them. Sad excuse for bunkers are really overgrown with more crabgrass. Owner is condescending and short with everyone he comes into contact with. Only upside is that it’s cheap, but honestly should be $10. Update based on the owner’s response: I reserved 18 on GolfNow but because the owner has zero clue what customer service is, I walked into the clubhouse and prov…
