In summary
Wildfire Golf Club receives high praise for its well-maintained courses, strategic layout, and friendly, accommodating staff. The practice facilities are generally appreciated, though some visitors note issues with the condition of the bunkers and the practice range. While many enjoy the scenic desert setting and efficient pace of play, a few have experienced delays due to tournaments or slow groups ahead.

This is a review of the practice area. Guests at the resort get free use of the practice area. I gave it a try. There are two courses on the property and both look to be in great shape. But the practice area certainly wasn't. Being a lefty, I found one small area of grass in one stall. But all the other areas were chewed up. To get to my hitting stall, I had to walk across at least 30 yards of pristine grass. For the life of me, I don't understand why they couldn't have moved the tees back 3 yards and given all the golfers some grass to hit off of.

Played this course this week since we were guests at the resort and we loved it. The course was immaculately maintained, fairways wide, putts were challenging and the course layout was well thought out. Make sure your bunker game is on fire because you’ll absolutely find yourself in one or three during your round. 10/10 will absolutely be visiting this course when we return to AZ.

Very nice course and in really good shape with the exception of the traps (and there is over 100) on the Faldo course. The sand was like concrete which made it very difficult especially when you were in a green side bunker. Great staff and service.

Faldo Course - April 21, 2025 Price - $102 (3:00pm) Includes - Cart, Waters, Range, Short Game Area Course Condition - 8.5/10 Green Speeds - Very Fast, True Pace of Play - Very Good Good - Value, Overall Course Quality, Friendly Staff Bad - Amount of Bunkers with poor quality sand Could Be Better - Lack of quality grass on the range A very fun track with a fair challenge for all levels of golfer. Nick Faldo use of bunkering in key landing areas and greenside to leave you hating your life if you find them. If you avoid them, it is a rather fair test of strategic golf. The views get better…

Great condition resort course. I would not doubt that it is amazing in the in-season, seeing how it was spectacular even in the dead of the summer in 110+ degree weather. I played the Palmer side, was told that it was the harder side of the two, that the Faldo side had more scenic views. Still all in all was quite prestine and scenic on the Palmer side. When I got there, from proshop staff to outside services staff, everyone was super friendly and accommodating. I was supposed to play with a friend, but unfortunate circumstances occurred and his girlfriend had to go to urgent care and hospita…

Played Faldo course Thursday April 9. Great condition with one glaring exception. The green side bunkers have zero sand base, meaning you skull every bunker shot. The look great, perfectly groomed but they need sand badly. I am a 3 handicap and obviously hit too many of them! But overall it’s a great place to play.

If you want the feel of a real Arizona desert style course this is as a good a place as any in the Phoenix area for it. Came in for the weekend to play a few rounds and I’m glad we chose here. They have two courses, a Faldo and Palmer course. We played the Faldo course and afterwards wish we had played the Palmer as well. Would be a great place for a 36 hole day if you’re up for it. The staff were all very professional and welcoming from the pro shop to the outdoor staff to the restaurant and bar. The practice facilities are also top notch. You have a nice grass range, a large putting area t…

We arrived to find out once again that we were goi g to be behind a tournament. So we got a deal on GN. Tee time, 1:30. We had 30-40 folks ahead of us on the course. The starter said no worries, they are starting 30 minutes ahead of you so shouldn’t be a problem. And we will have a course Marshall out there helping with the pace of play. Unfortunately neither of those things were true. The pace of play was slooooow and there was no Marshall only the cart girl plying the players with alcohol. So as the afternoon became twilight we were stuck on the 16th hole. Knew we’d never finish before dark.…

I don’t normally write reviews, but I want to warn my northern climate folks. Please spend your money elsewhere, Dinosaur Mountain, Ak Chin Southern Dunes, We Ko Pa, Grayhawk, The Phoenician, etc. For a course known for its bunkers, the Faldo course’s were not in good shape at all. Tack on a $250 plus price tag and I’d say go with the Palmer course instead. The greens were in good shape and the tee boxes were flat, but you can get that for less in the Phoenix area.

Probably the best resort course I've played. Played the Faldo course and it was a real challenge but not impossible. Wildlife was abundant even though there was housing lining the course - the housing was far enough off the course where it doesn't impact your play.

I recently played both the Faldo and Palmer Courses, and overall it was an enjoyable experience. The price was fair, the staff was very polite and professional, and the course was in exceptional shape. I am from the East Coast, so it was a new experience for me to play in the desert. There was an abundance of wildlife to enjoy, and the conditions were totally different than playing in the Mid-Atlantic. The only negative I have to say about the course is its members. On both days, I had issues playing as a single player behind a foursome of members that would not let me play through when the co…

I booked 2 tee times in April, and I received a email that they had a system error and I was asked to rebook. They worked with me to get the tee times rebooked. Look forward to playing the course here soon!
