In summary

Willodell Golf Club of Niagara is often praised for its well-maintained course, friendly staff, and enjoyable layout, offering a good value for golfers in the region. Many appreciate the course conditions, including smooth greens and well-kept fairways, as well as the attentive service from marshals and pro shop staff. However, some visitors have experienced issues with slow pace of play and communication regarding tee time delays, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction for those affected.

We drove over an hour for our 11:45 AM tee time at Willowdell, only to find out — after paying and checking in — that the course was more than an hour behind. No one mentioned the delay until we got to the tee, where the marshal rudely stopped us and said, “Nice try, pal. Don’t you see it’s backed up? You’re not golfing right now.” When we raised concerns, the manager and head pro, Chuck, downplayed everything and offered no accountability. Despite having video evidence of the delay and his own confirmation of a refund, he later denied it and responded with sarcasm and insults. Chuck showed…

Beautiful course, very well kept. Challenging and a lot of fun. Definitely a must play in the Niagara Region imho . If you haven’t been add it to your list, trust me.

We had not played Willodell in years but thankfully we did early this season because the course is in Amazing condition. The maintenance crew is great. Tee boxes nice and short. Fairways are gorgeous and the greens are quick and smooth. They spare no expense in that department they even have people who are out there fixing divots. Great food options at half way house and customer service from the starters to pro shop and restaurant is impeccable. Highly recommend!!

Person on the phone said it would be 75$ at the course it was 80$. The course conditions are not good at all, the grounds crew was all over at 10:30 cutting on mowers during play. If you arent going to have better course conditions and unprofessional grounds keeping practices then you cant be charging 80$. Go play Whirlpool for the same price.

Booked a tee time at Willodell and showed up early, only to learn — at the tee box — that the course was backed up over an hour. We weren’t told anything at check-in. No heads-up, no signage, nothing. When we asked why this wasn’t mentioned before paying, the manager dodged the question completely. It’s one thing for a course to run late. It’s another to keep players in the dark, take their money, and then ignore their concerns. Poorly run from top to bottom.

Recently had a morning tee time. There were 16 people ahead of us who hadn’t started yet. The starter said that people showed up without a tee time and the clubhouse is letting them play. I argued that this is not fair to the people who booked tee times ahead of time. 30 minute delay to tee off and a five and half hour round. Nice course, but they have to turn people away if they do not have a booked tee time.

This past weekend, I got to play at Willodell for the first time ever, and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The staff I interacted with were all very friendly and generous with their time. The course was in reasonably good shape, with only a few areas suffering from end-of-season wear and tear. The carts we used were clearly not brand new but were also well maintained and very clean. The clubhouse had a very limited lunch selection as we came around the 9th hole, but that is to be expected this late in the season. The morning we played, the course was a little slower than…

The round of golf was ruined by a bad Marshall and was very backed up. The Marshall started swearing at us after we made suggestions on speeding it up. Extremely unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour from a golf course representative.

The course was in excellent condition and for a Friday we played in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Highly impressed

Course isn't in horrible shape, but some tee boxes definitely need some work. Greens were in pretty good shape. Starter was a very pleasant man. Little pricey.

Decided to play here when there was rain in the forecast... not smart. The storm ended up being a lot bigger than we thought. The Marshall was extremely kind and came out of his way to pick us up at the 17 tees, even bringing us to our car. Not only to us but he was offering everyone a ride back regardless of how hard it was raining and did so with a smile and jokes along the way! Really thankful for him!

Fun, friendly track at a great rate. While not spectacular in any area, the course is nice enough. Fairly vanilla par 3s and 5s, couple of interesting dogleg par 4s. $35 w/cart. Great value.
