What People Say

In summary

Oaklands Golf Course is appreciated for its affordability and friendly staff, making it a suitable option for casual or beginner golfers. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's maintenance, noting issues with overgrown fairways, rough greens, and underpowered carts. While some find it a reasonable choice for the price, others suggest it requires significant improvements to enhance the overall playing experience.

One of the worst courses I have ever played! Extremely poorly maintained. Played third week of September. Overgrown fairways, ridiculously long rough around greens - almost impossible to find balls - lost six on the fairways. Unplayable sand traps - knee high weeds, and hard packed earth. Hadn't been raked in days or perhaps even weeks judging from the height of the weeds in them. Crappy power cart which backfired at least once on every hole made the Flintstones car look like a limousine. Rude, snarky course marshal made me wish I have spent my money anywhere but here. Aside from a very nice y…

Pros: affordable price, direction to next hole is clear, not hilly and easy to walk; wide open and accommodating, food cart available on the course Cons: barely see the fairways; rough is high; it's difficult to find your balls eventhough they are not out of bound (I lost 4 balls for no reason!!) , green is also not well maintained. Conclusion: you pay what you get! Fair deal! I still made good shots even the balls do not bounce much in this type of "fairway"!

Awful course. Hitting off the fairway is no different than hitting off the road, not to mention the ground was so hard you could barely put a tee in the ground. The staff inside the shop was nice; however the Marshall was so disrespectful it was painful.

Played this course in May, paid $50 for the opportunity to lose balls in the fairway because the grass was never cut. You can't even call it a fairway when the grass is higher than 2 inches in some spots. The power carts are underpowered and struggle to get up any hills. The owner even had the audacity to yell at us at one point for running over the corner slope up to the tee box when a cart needed a push start to get going- clearly an accident but brought on by poorly serviced vehicle! I was surprised he even admitted to owning the course, who would want to be associated with a place so poorl…

This course is a bit of a cow path but if all you're looking for is an inexpensive round, this is the place to go. (Don't forget to try one of their wonderful egg salad sandwiches...on whole wheat, to be healthy :-)...straight out of the fridge! They're yummy!

Truly disappointed with this course. I have played it for a few years and even back then it was decent. This year the course just looked so tired and unkept. The fairways were not maintained well...some of the areas approaching the greens the grass had to be at least 6 inches tall ( hole #2) ..the green of 1 was burnt and looked like no one even attempted to try and fix it. Hole 9 was the same...burnt greens and really un happy with the course conditions. What really gnawed my nards was while attempting to drive from the tee box on hole12 the grounds crew was cutting grass. I know he saw me bu…

Friendly pro shop and affordable price. Rough is high and difficult to find balls if you are off the fairway. Cart paths a bit rough but good value for the money.

Horribly kept up. Greens dried out and dried out fairways. Not worth 45 dollars a person after taxes. Asked for a refund after 2nd hole and told they can't do it. Never coming back.

First time there. It is an older course. Great deal on Under Par. Grass was a bit long, but a nice easy course layout. Needs work on the clubhouse, old carts.

Wasn't open yet but were letting people play. Grounds keepers doing best to bring back the course after previous owners neglect. Should be really nice soon. Give it a try.
