In summary

Windy Hills Golf Course is appreciated for its challenging layout, reasonable rates, and friendly staff, with many golfers enjoying the scenic country setting and well-maintained course. The course offers a good value, particularly with its golf and lunch specials, and is known for its elevation changes and tight fairways. However, some visitors have noted issues with course conditions, such as rough cart paths and inconsistent greens, and have expressed frustration with the booking process and occasional staff interactions.

Good value for your golfing $. Not resort conditions but not horrible either. Fun test. Pick the right club, as some of the fairways are narrow. Rained the day we were there so that likely adversely affected the conditions. Pleasant staff, and the beverage selection was good.

I highly recommend Windy Hills Golf Course if you are looking for a well maintained course with affordable rates in a especially beautiful country setting. They are committed to making regular improvements to the course. Despite playing there for many years, it is always challenging. The owners of the course are friendly and welcoming and they promote a fun relaxing atmosphere if you decide to linger with friends after a round of golf to enjoy some really good food.

Played 18 for 35$ with a cart. Tough to beat but course isn’t in great shape.

They almost never answer the phone and you can't book online so you're SOL if you want to book a time. Very frustrating. I recommend getting a second line installed if you are unable to handle current call volumes.

Ive edited my previous review as I let my emotion get the best of me and ive been thinking about it ever since. Ive always loved it here even though its challenging! Cant beat it for the price.

I went on a Thursday, so 18 holes including cart was $27. For that price, this course was exceptional. Lots of elevation change to keep you thinking. Greens were overall pretty good. It’s not a top of the line course but for the money it can’t be beat.

Never will I ever golf here again. I have been a consistent patron since high school (over 15 years of playing here), but one interaction ruined it all. As a huge golf fan and a regular player, I believe introducing our kids early is good for the sport, even when they don’t play. My 6 year old son loves golf, and enjoys the ride along while I play, but now this course charges for ride alongs. Let me repeat….my son is 6. The woman that I paid in the clubhouse to play 9 holes, told me I needed to pay an additional $5 if my son was going to ride in the cart while I played for “safety costs”. She…

Fairways were in good shape, but the greens are not prime. The greens keeper might need to apply some additional effort to bring them up. Only a few greens are like that. Otherwise, this is a fun course having plenty for all stages to enjoy.

First time at course. I am not a great golfer but better than average. The course was very dry. Cart paths were very rough. Some of the greens had any hills on them. The course itself is very well designed and very challenging. With some very serious T.L.C. it could be a very detailed and enjoyable place to play a round of golf. Watering should not be a problem wit Battenkill river right close by.

I am getting into golf again and golfed at Windy Hills for a second time in the other day. I enjoyed the layout of the course the first time I was there and told some of the guys I worked with. We ended up playing the course the other day. I showed up late for the tee time and they had already teed off(I stopped for some corn and struck up a conversation with a young guy walking across america from Maine.) I paid in the pro shop and I said I would walk out there to meet the guys on the course. The woman in the pro shop who was the owner offered to give me a ride out to meet them with a cart.…

I enjoy playing golf every time I play at Windy Hills. The holes are challenging and the setting is outstanding. Many of the courses in the area suffered from the difficult 2014 winter but Windy Hills is in good shape. A family run course that sets a high standard for how these operations should function.
