In summary

Bear Creek Golf Course is appreciated for its challenging layout and well-maintained greens, with several visitors noting the friendly and helpful staff. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the condition of the cart paths, the pace of play, and issues with golf carts, which have affected their overall experience. Additionally, there have been reports of management and operational challenges, such as delays and logistical issues, which some feel detract from the course's potential.

The lady in the pro shop was super helpful and kind. The course is in great shape and the greens are rolling pure. This course definitely has some teeth to it off the tee. Overall, I had a great time playing this well groomed course! 10/10 will be back!

I’ve played this course for over 20 years and it’s gone downhill every year. Carts are atrocious, cart paths are non existent on most of the course. No Marshall to monitor pace of play so expect to play 5 hour plus rounds possibly 6 hours. It’s a shame because it’s so close to my house and I’d love to be able to buy a membership but I wouldn’t waste my money.

Great course, excellent greens nice layout. Challenging but not difficult for good golfers (of which I am not). Very pleasant people and staff. Cart paths are rough but no big deal.

I visited Bear Creek Golf Club in Monroe, Georgia with some out-of-state visitors, driving about 1.5 hours each way to get there. We were excited for a day on the course but a few issues made the experience frustrating. though I’ll try to keep this fair. First, the driving range ball machine was broken when we arrived, and it took staff quite a while to get it fixed, delaying our warm-up. The course itself was in okay condition playable but a bit rough around the edges. However a couple of holes have apparently been set up as temporaries which feels like it should have been addressed improve…

Played in a scramble tournament recently. The course seemed in decent shape. The greens are very challenging and roll well. The tee boxes on 5 of the holes were in bad shape. On a couple of holes, it was hard to determine which tee box to use as the markers were not set up. Could easily play the tips as most of the holes are on the shorter side. For the price, not a bad course.

The course is in good shape, but the pro shop ruins the course. The old man who works up there is a grouchy control freak. I played on a Friday morning at 7:50 am and he forced me to share a cart with another guy when there was maybe 3 other cars in the parking lot. Also, the food and drinks there are extremely overpriced. $6 hot dogs is wild.

Save your money. This course is terrible. They actually have concrete with turf tee boxes. If I wanted to hit off a turf tee box with concrete under it I would go to a driving range. The holes are also not numbered properly. The cart path is complete garbage. Spend the extra $10 and go play at a different course worth the money, don’t waste your time at this disaster.

The staff here is nice. They are still working on the course to make it great. It's a decent course for now. The cart path is a little confusing.

Great course and absolutely worth the money! The old ownership struggled, which explains some of the lower past ratings, but the new owners clearly care and are doing an incredible job bringing this place back to life. The greens have improved drastically, and the course is fun, challenging, and plays really well. A few hole changes are still in progress, but they’re only making it better. Well worth the price and the wait — excited to see where this course goes from here!

VERY disappointing experience and very poor business ethics. Had a 9:50 tee time, showed up with my group and checked in 30 minutes prior. At 10:20 we were told by the starter they were out of carts and it would be an hour plus wait. (The starter was very sweet and empathic to the situation). As this takes place, a group who had a tee time at 10:10 received carts and were told to go ahead of our group and the group ahead of us. We go inside the clubhouse to ask for a rain check or refund, we are told by a lady with glasses that she does not know nor does she have the authority to issue refunds…

Edit: Played this course again on 3-2-19 and wow, has it fallen off. The greens were in terrible condition. It looked like they hadn't been mowed in days and had unbelievable amounts of debris and various spotting/small weeds growing on most of them. You would think they could at least mow the greens on a Saturday morning since it wasn't raining at all and should have been a decent day for golf. There was also a new obstacle placed in front of one of the tee boxes, so I decided to snap a picture of it (below). Nice! I won't be coming back here anytime soon. Disappointing to say the least. 1st…
