In summary

Birchwood Farms Golf & Country Club is highly praised for its beautifully maintained golf courses, particularly the Woods Course, which offers stunning views of Lake Michigan and varied elevation changes. The club's amenities, including a clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, and dining facilities, receive positive feedback for their quality and the friendly, professional staff. However, some concerns are raised about the club's management and financial policies, which have affected property values and membership terms for some members.

Three 9 hole courses. The the Woods Course is truly spectacular with lots of elevation changes and beautiful views of lake Michigan. It's also a relatively forgiving course so makes playing there very fun. The clubhouse is also nice with a nice pool and tennis courts and workout facility

We just had a family reunion for 66 people on Thursday evening at the Clubhouse, and the facilities and staff were excellent. The staff was very attentive and met all of our needs. We definitely would recommend it for large gatherings as it is spacious and if the weather is acceptable you can mingle outside. Well done Birchwood!!

Beautiful property & facilities, nice dining environment. Staff was attentive, friendly, and professional. They did a great job of accommodating a party of 12 on short notice for a friend's birthday dinner. We look forward to future visits!

Beautiful and meticulously maintained golf courses and a fine staff in a gorgeous wooded neighborhood along Michigan's Tunnel of Trees. Regrettably, the club's Board decided to make draconian changes to it's neighborhood vacation rental policy as well as alluding to further consideration for the neighborhood HOA. Our dream retirement home became very unwelcoming and almost downright hostile toward our business plan without even trying to reach out to those members who shared similar enterprises. Sadly, we moved on, rather than allowing such egregious behavior to affect our investment.

Course is about the best I've ever seen in person. Picturesque and well manicured. A top notch private course that provides a serenity that you rarely find at a public course. Elevation changes. Lake Michigan in the background. Would be a $125 course if it were public.

A private golf course, but has some of the best views around northern michigan! The woods is unreal on a fall evening as you can see the sunset and overlook the expanse of hardwoods on hole #1! Consists of 3, 9-hole courses and has a midway house when your stomach gets gurgling or you need another cold one to help you play better! The staff is awesome and the golf pro is a fantastic guy.

Great pastoral Northern Michigan golf. 3 different style nines to choose from, friendly staff, great facilities throughout the club and terrific restaurant, pool and 3 way house. Outstanding club.

Birchwood, unlike many "equity" share clubs, initially required property purchase for membership. There were varying lots of different sizes, some "buildable" others merely membership lots; prices were set accordingly. The problem the is that the club experienced some questionable financial decisions by board and management that resulted in property values plummeting - to the point of being worthless. What the club chose to do to compensate for the downfall was implement bylaws that forced members, at the time they cared to resign their memberships, to pay a $15,000 buyout fee. And, additional…
