In summary

Blackheath Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained greens and fairways, offering a true links-style experience with a challenging yet enjoyable layout. However, many visitors express frustration with the pace of play, often citing long rounds and insufficient management of tee times as significant issues. While the course itself receives praise, the limited amenities and lack of alcohol availability are noted as areas needing improvement.

Love playing this course. Greens roll very true and the course is in excellent shape. The course layout is very fun with plenty of elevation and some tricky holes. Definitely recommend playing in the early morning as the tee times are a bit cheaper and seeing the sunrise on the course is very pretty.

Course is great. It's the only true links course in Rochester and I prefer it over Twin Lake's links course. I'm giving it two stars because of the pace of play and management. I didn't finish my round today out of frustration. We were averaging 20 minutes per hole. That is a 6 hour round on a Thursday morning in the Fall. I considered going into the pro shop, but after seeing the reviews I realized they already know and refuse to address it. I won't be back and it's a shame because the course is well maintained, different than the surrounding tracks, and fun. I could get past the horrible c…

Well kept course. Sometimes pace of play can be a little longer than average. Challenging but very playable for all skill levels. Fairways and greens are kept nice and tight, even through hot summer months. Fescue can get long so keep it in play. Bunkers are well placed and there are a few deep pot bunkers. #10 is an iconic climb down greenside.

Course is fine but don’t go unless you want a 6 hour round, they don’t know how to manage tee times at all

Nice track if you like a links style course! Played on a very windy day so with no trees to block some of the wind it made it more challenging than normal. Feel they over booked tee times a bit so play was a bit slow. Clubhouse was below par and they had no alcohol on premise due to losing their license. Just ok overall.

Couldn’t have a few beers on the course because they weren’t available to purchase. Got on the course and within a few holes were being questioned about our pace of play when it was fine. Picked up the pace as best as we could just to get backed up on the 13-18 holes. Ranger just didn’t make any sense to me. Challenging course and deceiving greens is about it, I’ll never go back or tell anyone to go.

Absolutely awful course management… If you don’t value your time, you should play here…. 6 hour round is the norm. Zero course management. No food besides a warmed up hot dog. 7 groups on 2 holes and the rangers watch.

If you want a true links course experience you won't find a better public one within a 4 hour drive from Detroit. Greens and fairways in great shape. They were resending and leveling tee boxes today. New sand in bunkers. Would have given 5 stars but the six old guys (2 threesomes) in front of us ended up with almost three open holes in front of them and 2 or 3 groups stacked up on every tee behind them. Mercifully it was only 5 hours. HIRE SOME MARSHALLS.

Course in good shape overall, but to charge $69.00 in late October 10/20 to be exact, is robbery especially since you have no bar activity, like you trying to make up that money on the golf charge. Shame, way over priced for mid/late October

BLACKHEATH Golf Club 👍👍👍 👍 👍 Nice golf course in Rochester Hills area. Played last few seasons and played again this season. One of the best links style course in the area. COURSE 👍 - wide open course. course maintained ok. fairway good so as green. Greens relatively small expect the 18 hole. Some of the Holes are nearby and need to watch out. AMENITIES 👍- small golf range area there and small putting area as well . Proshop has food and drinks and no beer cart girl in the course. STAFF and MANAGEMENT 👍 starter and other staff members doing ok job. Limited food at pro shop area. VALUE for THE M…

Loved the course. But the Owners aren't going to fix it up. The parking lot is a crumbled mess. The clubhouse is bare bones. They had big plans for it all when it was first opened, but it never happened. Now, the latest rumor is that they've sold it to a developer to build homes. So next summer will likely be their last.

Very nice course but the course marshal needs to be out just a bit more. It took us 3 hours to play 9 holes even though we paid for 18. All held up by a group of 2. I will go back but it'll have to be in the middle of the day to make it worth it
