In summary

Sanctuary Lake Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic layout, challenging design, and well-maintained fairways and greens, offering a fun links-style golfing experience. The staff is generally regarded as friendly, and the course provides good amenities, including a driving range. However, some golfers have expressed concerns about the slow pace of play and pricing, particularly with the course's dynamic pricing model, which can lead to extended rounds and higher fees.

A group of us drove over from Windsor to play in a tournament here. We loved it. Beautiful views, fairways were well kept and the greens were challenging but in great shape. Will definitely be coming back here!

How do you set up your tee times so close together where we have to wait 30 minutes for two groups in front of us to finish and one is waiting for us. This is the most ridiculous thing. No other course have I had to wait this long. Makes entire game slow and ruins the vibes! FIX YOUR TEE TIMES!!!

Sanctuary Lake is an okay course, with okay conditions. It plays incredibly short, is built on a landfill, and is a war zone. The pace of play is absolutely subpar. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve come only to find myself playing 6 hour rounds. Today I found myself looking to play a quick twilight round, and checked the closest course to me, Sanctuary. I go to book online and come to find out, Sunday NIGHT at 6pm.. the rate for 18 is $75. Naturally, I try to call to see if this is a mistake. Behold my joy finding out that calling the clubhouse does not put me in contact with the cour…

Had a great time, played 18 holes, the staff are friendly. Cant complain much but other than golfers should be more courtesy to one another when making divots. Thank you for the experience.

Very nice and fun course. There are a few areas that need to be fixed and grass planted. Otherwise lots of fun.

Love this course, even if it's built on a landfill! Used to be my home course so I've played it a bunch. Not a big links style guy but this one is fun. Greens could be a bit faster but that's pretty much my only complaint.

One of the best Golf course for Troy residence. Love the first hole up in the hill. There are not many hazards but are lengthy Challenging . Course clean and lots of green. Most of the times reservations managed well but there are times on weekends scheduling get messed up. They have a beautiful golf range to practice. This is probably only range where you can hit from Green and not mat. Very friendly staff and supportive. Looking forward for the next season

Great course. Love this track. Windy and a bit cold, but it’s worth the drive if you’re 35-40 minutes away. Some nice elevation on par 3s, some nice views on top of the rolling land, and filled-hills! $53 for the AM round was fantastic value. Pay attention to course layout and signage. It’s well marked, just follow the signs. Score card posted for course info, not for bragging rights. Pardon the 3 putts. Greens were in decent to great shape. Very few complaints for a colder May round. It’s gonna be a great year for the course!

The course was not in the shape it should be needs a little tlc. That said it was more challenging for the bogey golfer then the rating suggests. Good hot dogs at the turn. Staff were very pleasant.

Nice golf course. Very hilly for the front nine holes. Well groomed and in good shape. Highly recommend you play a round of golf here.

Longest round I think I’ve ever played. When I came in for my round I was talking to the starter who informed me that there times were running late by about five minutes and we were looking at a five hour round minimum. I was pretty shocked that they were willing to openly admit to bad pace of play, but was even more shocked when my round took 6 hours. At one point, we had 4 groups on one tee box waiting to tee off, and not a ranger in site. I enjoyed the course, it was a very fun design and was in relatively good shape for May, but a 6 hour round is unacceptable and is the reason I will likel…

Honestly used to be one of my favorite courses, challenging, well maintained for a great price. The past two years have been not great between continuous price hikes, and less time between tee times leading toward slow pace of play. 5.75 hours on average as of recently. The kicker is the practice area, for sub par grass you can pay $18 for a bucket of balls… that’s insane. If you’re lucky the grass tees are open, but more often than not it’s the mats and still for $18. I don’t know why people would keep coming back.
