In summary

Butter Brook Golf Club is frequently praised for its beautiful and well-maintained course, featuring a distinctive layout with a front nine surrounded by pines and a more open, links-style back nine. The staff and amenities, including a driving range and practice areas, contribute to a positive experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with the condition of the greens, including pitch marks and slow speeds, as well as concerns over pace of play and tee time management.

Absolutely beautiful course that’s kept in great condition and has great hole designs. The course is also very walkable without huge changes in elevation. Just know that the walk from the 9th green to 10th tee is over a quarter mile. The staff and greens keepers are also very friendly and the whole atmosphere is great.

Play here a couple times a month. Really awesome course, super cool layout, challenging holes, a very different front and back 9 which is always cool. At the beginning of the season the greens were very pure, but around halfway through the season the greens have been littered with pitch marks that are not fixed. I don’t think I had a single mid length or longer putt where I wasn’t fixing a completely unfixed pitch mark in my line. Also little mounds of dirt from ants, I have had putts where the ball jumped over an inch in the air from these little mounds. This course is not cheap so it’s disap…

Great course in good shape. T boxes are great fairways are great greens are good. For whatever reason their hamburgers are unbelievable. Maybe best hamburger I’ve ever had. I savor every bite. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Played Butter Brook today with my good friend Tommy, and we were paired with two other gentlemen (Steven & Urie) for an 8:00 a.m. tee time. We only had time for 9 holes, though I would’ve loved to play the full 18. The course itself was in excellent condition — greens were rolling nicely, fairways were well kept, and even though it was busy, everything felt well organized and spread out. My game was just “okay,” nothing to brag about, but the atmosphere and the company made it a great round overall. I wish I had some pictures to go along with the story, because it was a beautiful morning on…

Fantastic golf course in amazing shape. The layout is great, with the front nine surrounded by beautiful tall pines while most of the back nine wide open links style.

This was my first time playing here and it's definitely a premium course! Conditions were mint. Greens were rolling true but surprisingly weren't fast. Front 9 and back 9 were built separate years so the font nine has a nice "through the pines" feel and the back 9 is more links style. $80 for 18 w/cart on a Wednesday is more than I'm used to paying but this course is worth it. There is a driving range ($5 small bag of balls), chipping practice area and putting green to warm up at before your round (could not find that info on the website). 10/10 would recommend! Thank you for a great day!

A meticulously maintained, reasonably challenging yet fun course- what more could you ask for? The carts are electric, and the range balls are very reasonably priced (as were the green fees themselves - $80 including carts). Pace of play wasn’t too fast either, with tee times spaced 10 minutes apart. If only this course were 15 minutes closer to boston- I’d come back here in a heartbeat.

Beautiful course with a few tight fairways. Reminds me of a Donald Ross course. Well maintained and the driving range is unique. Food is great- beer is cold- great overall experience. It was busy at 3 pm on a holiday Monday (as expected) but people were friendly and polite.

I grew up in Westford and was very excited to play Butter Brook. Unfortunately, my group of 4 left feeling disheartened by the whole experience. We arrived early and waited for our 5:50pm tee time. At the fist tee we had a delayed start by over ten minutes due to a bottle neck of at least two groups in front of us. I can only assume the club is stacking tee times too close together causing this issue. By the second hole we had the ranger approach us and tell us we needed to speed up our play. On the next hole we were delayed again waiting for the fairway to clear, so I chatted with a player wh…

Great layout, conditions are always excellent but the greens were extremely slow. Worst greens i’ve played this year by far.

Course was in great shape for all the rain it's got. Expensive weekend round, but a really good challenging course. 3rd hole was under construction, which I thought would call for some sort of discount, but overall a top tier course. I've played many, and always make a point to come out to butterbrook at least once or twice a season. Usually try to go once in summer and once in the fall. The difference between the front and back make it seem like you're playing 2 totally different rounds. Love it!

Challenging layout, good condition overall but the greens were slow. The fees were a bit high compared to the others with same or better conditions.
