In summary

Calhoun Country Club is appreciated for its challenging and diverse course layout, with a mix of open and tight fairways, elevation changes, and well-maintained greens. The staff is frequently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, contributing to a positive experience for many visitors. However, some golfers have expressed concerns about course maintenance, including overgrown fairways and sand traps, as well as operational issues such as a lack of available carts and range balls. Despite these challenges, many acknowledge ongoing improvements and find the course to be a good value for its price.

And friend and I decided to go and play nine holes over at Calhoun Hills and we had a fantastic time. The course seemed kind of busy but there wasn't a lot of people in our way and there wasn't a lot of people reading on our neck. The greens were super fast. And it made this course actually very challenging. I went to Crowfield and Goose Creek recently and it was absolutely horrific. I was super happy at Calhoun Hills.

Feel Robbed. Was not told they were doing any work on the course. Hole 15 has a dirt berm around it, so if you don’t hit the green well lol have fun. Hole 16 was unplayable. They also freshly punched and recanted the greens. Also want you to pay for range balls. 🤣. Yall need to pay me to play here. Ridiculous.

Giving a better review because it wasn’t bad by any means, but after looking through other reviews, I think it’s worth mentioning. I haven’t played here in about 10 years so was good to come back. Couldn’t quite remember the layout, so that plays a part in this review as well. We had a great time, the greens were in excellent condition, but the fairways weren’t. There were many holes where we were dead center but was hard to find the ball because the fairways weren’t cut and realistically looked like my backyard. Was hard to tell the rough from the fairway due to this and just didn’t have a lo…

I was a member two years ago. I rejoined last month and the improvements to the greens are great. still some work to be done but Mr Woody and the staff are improving the course each week. For the price and friendliness of the staff, you just can't beat it. Front 9 wide open and back 9 is tighter, plus the elevation changes make for a good challenge. Keep up the great work! Mike M.

The course is really good on the front nine but the back nine greens are in pitiful shape. They have increased their price stating that the course has improved but actually it leaves much to be desired for the price you pay.

This course is a great deal for $25 with cart. Greens roll true and consistent. A nice diverse layout with hills, doglegs and water. Sand traps have new sand and were in excellent shape. Irrigation excavations have healed nicely. All in all a good deal.

Awesome course, tight layout. Lots of hills!

This place has potential. It's like playing on two different courses. The front 9 is dry, with patchy grass and mostly open fairways. The back 9 is lusher with thicker grass and tighter fairways. The back 9 appears to be older and it has irrigation where the front 9 is just having the irrigation installed now. Overall, the course has a challenging layout and more hills than I would have expected. There is almost no signage, so navigating the course is difficult. As an example, we played on the course for the first time Tuesday and played the 7th green from the 1st tee. The cart paths are in ba…

Went there to play for the first time. Read some of the negative reviews but went anyway. We had a great time and found the golf course to be in good condition. The front nine is open with the back nine tight fairways. There was plenty of grass on the fairways for this time of the year and only 1 green needed a little work. The golf carts have GPS system on them a big help. Will be going back soon to play again
