In summary

Carolina Trace Country Club is highly praised for its beautiful course layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for golf enthusiasts. Many visitors appreciate the challenging design of the two courses, Creek and Lake, as well as the welcoming atmosphere and quality dining options. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the lack of on-course amenities, such as water and cart service, and the need for better signage and organization during events.

Our annual golf trip with 12 guys played 36 at Carolina Trace (Creek in the morning and Lake in the afternoon) on 9/12, and we left very impressed. Price to play vs most places in the sandhills area was very affordable (<$200 for both rounds combined). Both courses had great collections of par 3s and holes that made you think, but also offer some risk reward opportunities. Jeff and the Pro in the clubhouse were nice and gave us tips on the course and welcomed us back. The bartender was great as well. Highly recommend playing here if you're in the area!

This is a beautiful venue! Josette and her team/staff are wonderful! We had a charity gala here and all of our guests continued to comment on the spectacular location and beautiful space! Thank you to all of the staff that worked this event!

Great course. I just have issues with all the hazards that go up and down the paths and fairways during early and late play. During those times, it's a public greenway/dog park. Would the player be responsible for any injuries of a dog walker or their pet if hit with the ball? Would the dog owners be responsible of any dog bites to a player? Keep that in mind while playing.

Played here 23OCT25 with 9 of my buddies on a golf trip to the area. Can't say how amazing this course is. Everything about it was in pristine condition. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Just perfect. Pro shop was nice and the personnel working it were helpful and easygoing. No issues with anyone being bossy, grumpy, etc. Loved the bar area. Nice set up and we enjoyed a few after round beverages with no issues. All of the par 3s were great, but #15 has to be one of the most beautiful par 3's in the world. Three of us played Pebble in April, and we all agreed that #15 at Carolina Trace matches…

It's really nice! Linen table clothes. Full bar and a kitchen. Clean bathrooms. There are cieling fans outside on the patio. Great customer service. 6/19/25 On this visit, I ordered the bacon wrapped steak filet, mashed potatoes, the vegetable medley that had zucchini, squash, red peppers, and a long island ice tea. The steak was cooked just the way I like it medium well. It was so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and flavorful. The vegetable medley was grilled to perfection and was really good. This was my 3rd time ordering their long island ice tea, which was consist…

NOT worth $150 for a round. Can play better courses for much less anywhere in the area. NO water was available on the course and NO service on the course. Vending machine on Hole #10 was not working. Best yet, doesn’t even come back to the club house at the turn. No ranger on the course. I would pay $35 to play this course. NOT $150

Today's adventure brings us to @carolinatracecc just outside of Sanford, NC. This is in a gated community and is made up of "The Lake" and "The Creek" courses. I played the Lake course. Initial Impression: When you enter off the road, you check in at the Guard Shack. The female security officer who greeted me was full of energy and smiles. She was excited to be at work today. It's a hilly and twisting road to the clubhouse. The pro shop is located below the clubhouse here. I was greeted by an extremely positive and humorous older gentleman by the name of Scott. He is the cart person and start…

This place is a bit of a shame. It's an incredibly beautiful course but unless there's a tournament of sorts out there that draws me in, I won't be back. They do a phenomenal job maintaining the course. That much I'll give them & that's where the good part of this review ends. The tournament I just played in started off on the wrong foot with several of us not having keys to our carts. The shotgun start took off & there we sat. About 5 minutes later they bring us different carts & have us switch to those carts. But that wasn't even really the first thing that they could have done better on.…

Great course, 2 18 hole courses there. I played the Lake course, its fun and it will challenge you. Staff is friendly, the lunch is really good. Country Club feel without the bs. Can't go wrong.

We played the lakes course, fantastic course and great employees. Greens are quick and hold shots. I can't wait to play the Creeks course. The down side is it's a private country club and you need to know someone to get on the course.
